Woop! Meeting over, mortgage paperwork signed. Apparently we got knocked back four times before they accepted - our MA is a star! Just have to hope that the valuation/survey is ok...no Japanese Knotweed or unsteady joists please!

    Congrats! What lender you with?

Mortgage application finally posted yesterday, hoping it won't take long for them to take the booking and valuation fees out of my account.
I've also found out my sellers are buying on with cash and there new property is vacant. 😬

Final time-scales for recent NW application:

    05/08 - DIP
    05/08 - Full Application
    05/08 - Valuation Instructed
    06/08 - Valuation carried out
    08/08 - Valuation 'Technical Hitch'
    11/08 - 'Technical Hitch' Resolved
13/08 - Text confirming Formal Issue
16/08 - Formal issue received in post for full amount / no special conditions

Good luck to everyone, I am hoping that all the legals and my buyers offer is OK and we can look to complete in the next 4-6 weeks.

    Cheers

Nice one! We are discovering that there is nothing worse than arguing about completion dates with the vendors lol

Right I'm finally ready to join the bandwagon! Received our DIP with halifax yesterday through my mortgage advisor (joint application with husband) He did put the application through last week but it got referred due to my husbands status in the uk (he is a permanent residence now) just needed to clarify this!

I have just checked both mine and my husbands experian credit file and there are 2 searches on there:

1: halifax bank plc: identification - generic check
2: Lloyds banking group: mortgage quotation.

Does anyone know if there will be more credit checks taking place and is it a good sign that I passed the dip?

If you only applied on 15th, why would you be vaguely concerned about completion dates now, let alone arguing about them with the vendor?

Still waiting to hear from Leeds...my MA said they emailed Friday saying

''The case has been approved in principle subject to verification of the information supplied and a satisfactory valuation.''

(they requested a proof of address so presume they mean that in regards to verification of info)

I'm not even sure what that means or if its positive? I am also at the other end trying to get a completion date for the beginning of September finalised with the vendor and solicitors.

Wow 4 times! your MA really is a star! Do you know when you are having the valuation done? I am hoping this weekend will be the one when i can relax and have the offer formally!

How has the completion date saga gone? Have you agreed on one?
  • Yey i got my offer today! it has a £899 retention but at least we have the offer!
