Thanks Merkat and Thelaughingcat. Well got good news finally on monday evening from the broker saying that he had just received a call direct from the under-writer and that everything had been finally cleared and they were proceeding to offer. My broker has stated that it should be done but don't believe anything till you get your copy in the post. Which i am hoping is today:)

Update... It has actually arrived in the post today. Sitting here with my mortgage offer in my hands. Ahhhhhh... That's one battle one, now to continue the war fight!
  • ah im so pleased for you pembssurf, its been a while since I posted and have followed your story since the start such a relief for you !!
Our valuation was carried out on Monday after the first purchase falling through due to Japanese knotweed being found in the garden but we found another great house and this is the one that's just had the valuation done on it so we should finally know one way or the other this week !
    Good luck to all waiting

24th July - DIP Received from Halifax

25th July - Offer on house accepted

29th July - Full Mortgage App filled in with Broker

1st August - Broker had to change the way I get paid (I get paid by dividend) and Halifax automatically declined me. My valuation survey and arrangement fees were refunded back to me.

4th August - Broker discussed my circumstances with Nationwide, gave me a DIP with a higher deposit needed.

11th August - Valuation survey carried out, now waiting for the survey results and hopefully an offer
