How long does it take for Woolwich to issue an offer after receiving a matching valuation? It's been 7 working days since the results of our valuation was available by eServ... a bit concerned why it's taking so long.0

I think the process with Woolwich/Barclays is just slow. I've just had my valuation booked today and it's not until the 15th of August :-/
My MA did tell me to expect it to take 3 weeks for the valuation and around 6 weeks in total so I guess she was right.0 -
My progress (arranging further advance to staircase with current lender)
3 week wait to see MA in branch at Barclays.
09/07/14 First meeting to talk over options
16/07/14 Full Application made in branch
21/07/14 Valuation instructed (for 15/08/14)0 -
Husband and I are first time buyers. He is applying alone for a mortgage for a repossession. Property price £57k, with mortgage of £37k. We are in Scotland.
Mortgage advisor at Bank of Scotland sent it off to the underwriters on 09/07 and we still haven't heard anything back. MA is now on holiday, and despite calling and going into the branch today we didn't get any update from them. We had been told that we would most likely have the offer by 16/07, but nothing yet.
Today we've been issued with a letter from the seller (ironically also BoS) who need us to have the mortgage offer and complete the missives by the end of the day on 24/07 or we lose the property.
We were thinking of trying to call the underwriters directly tomorrow, since we don't have a broker to do that for us. Anybody know if they'd speak with us directly?0 -
Madscientist got word from MA today the mortgage has been agreed subject to valuation , I'm so excited , one step closer to the dream home , natwest have been brilliant so far no horror stories ! :-D :j0

We are now in week 8, the EA called at 5 yesterday to say that the vendor will put the house back on the market if they don't hear by Friday and that there's something seriously wrong for it to be taking this long. I played dumb but I do think our broker made a boo boo with our application too and is now on holiday for 2 weeks. :-/
I then called the solicitor (who we switched to on broker's advice) to ask why we hadn't yet received contracts, after much huffing and puffing about it all they told me they hadn't received it from vendors so will chase. They said this despite me saying I'd already been told differently via email so I've replied to the email asking which is true as its been over a week now and I know the vendors solicitors had the contract ready when we switched solicitors.
We did everything right and yet it's all going wrong :-(0 -

I'd be contacting the company the broker works for, and demanding someone else take over the case immediately. They've clearly made an error somewhere, and the fact you may lose the property you want because of it is terrible. I hope you manage to get something sorted out0 -
Were waiting, house is marked as SOLD STC.
We have a question though? The water in the property is drained down, so we cant check the taps/toilets/boiler etc.
Will we be able to arrange via the solicitor that the property is restored prior to completion? Water working, toilets working, boiler working etc for a quick look before the final sigs?0 -

Spoken to the solicitor who was lovely, just waiting on one search to come back. Think I must've got someone who wanted to go home last night!
Spoken to the EA and they said the same as you, we're just confused, broker said we were a simple case, the only thing is our car finance which we can pay off.0
