Hi everyone, just had to join as ive read every post on this thread!
We had a DIP 25th June with Natwest, put in full app 3rd July, passed credit checks noticed two checks and an anti money laundering check on Equifax, submitted all docs etc , yesterday underwriters asked for the latest bank statement as we didn't have junes when we applied and asked for a 'proof of signature form' to be filled in.
We are getting a little over 10% deposit from the Forces Help to Buy scheme.
Sooooo nervous waiting for underwriters to say yes subject to valuation!
Anyone else waiting on Natwest ?

Hi yes we are still waiting 4 weeks down the line. we had to do the whole proof of signature form but some reason it takes em 3 days to read it lol

    Hi

Application with nationwide in progress. Received the following today via text:

"Hi, Nationwide here. We've received the valuation report for your mortgage application. We'll review this and be in touch if we need any more information".

Is this a standard message? Most posts on here seem to suggests people have had one text saying valuation received and satisfactory. Slightly concerned therefore that there may be a problem with it as this hasn't said about being ok?

    Yes, standard.

    It's usually valuation received first.

Then, valuation acceptable, then mortgage offered, if there's nothing outstanding.

Hooray! We've received a message from our broker to say they have our mortgage offer and it all looks fine. We should receive it in the post soon.

    So our timeline is this:

29 May - Received a DIP from Nationwide

Monday 16 June - Found a house and put an offer in (£30k under asking price and £40k under what Nationwide agreed to lend on the DIP)
Tuesday 17 June - Supplied all the additional documents to our broker and sent off the formal application
Thursday 19 June - received a text and email from Nationwide to say our application had been received
23 June - Our broker asks for more bank statements from my boyfriend. They want full bank statements for the last 12 months for only him.
25 June - receive a text from Nationwide to say the valuation is booked for the morning of the 11 July

Cue delays where we are told the valuation will be received 'tomorrow' every single day

Monday 21 July - valuation received by Nationwide
Wednesday 23 July - text message received to say they'd issued a formal offer!

Phew! This hurdle is over at least. Just need to wait for the searches to come back now.
  • Nervously awaiting our decision.

MiP with Natwest agreed on 20.6.14.
    Full application made on 8.7.14.

Just had an update from our MA.

Application and documents assessed on 14.7.14
Valuation instructed, which was carried out on 22.7.14

The report arrived back today so will be assessed in the next few days. Hopefully, all going well, our offer will be issued in the middle of next week.

    Fingers crossed!

    Woo hoo! :T
  • What a palaver my mortgage application has become.

It went in about two weeks ago (Nationwide via London & Country). Nationwide did the valuation a week last Monday. On the following Thursday L&C call me and ask do I have any debt I haven't disclosed on the application.

I inform them I haven't and call Nationwide. It turns out it is my credit card that is causing the problem even though it is settled every month. NW ask for a bank statement proving I have settled the current month. I then inform them that they have it and to look on the July statement on the 3rd (that is when Capital One take the full balance).

I think "well that is that sorted, now for the offer." I get a call on the way home from work from L&C informing me that Nationwide have rejected my application because of my personal debt! I need to get hold of my credit report from Experian to find out what is going on. I call Experian and register for my report, however I "fail" one of their identity protocols and so they tell me I will have to wait a week for a PIN number to arrive at my home!

I call Nationwide on the Friday to find out what is going on. They quote me two figures for outstanding debt that make no sense so I assume I have been the victim of identity theft as the figures are substantially different (my monthly loan commitments double). L&C manage to get the application referred to the underwriters at Nationwide's Head Office.

On Saturday I manage to get hold of my credit report via Noddle. I note that if you double my outstanding credit card and loan commitments you get the figures Nationwide quoted me (to the exact pound).

On Monday I contact Nationwide and find out that Head Office has literally thrown the application back at the normal underwriters basically saying "the outstanding credit has been doubled. This is a blatant keying-in error, please amend, review and issue offer (or start appeal process)."

I then find out that instead of being at my current address for 11 years whoever entered the application had me living in my house for two separate spells of 2 years and 9 years. This meant my outgoings and utilised credit doubled, & I failed the affordability test. L&C entered a new application on Monday, cancelled the original one but referenced back to it (for the purposes of documentation). I sent the mortgage advisor at L&C a copy of my Experian report which ties back to what I disclosed in the original application as well as the new one. I was also charged another £329 for the mortgage but L&C requested a refund, when I called later Nationwide have said they will process one shortly.

I was told I should have the offer by close of play Wednesday (yesterday). The Case Manager at L&C called yesterday and left a voicemail saying that it would take 48 hours at the latest and I will have the offer by end of play Friday (tomorrow).

I rang Nationwide at lunchtime today for an update to be told they only received my documents this morning (payslips, bank statements, driving licence etc.) and it will now be early next week before I get the offer.

Will I get the offer before August?

Sat through the application with Natwest on Monday and everything seemed okay. Just waiting for the phone call to say the funds can be approved but we need to go ahead with the valuation before anything can be offered officially, we were told up to 48 hours for the first bit but I am taking that with a pinch of salt seeing as though 48 hours are now up.

    Fingers crossed....
