Anyone want to join me? Awaiting Mortgage decision...

We are not sure whether to advance to the full application before the aip expires but this would mean we would have to pay £1000 out plus £270 valuation fee.
There's no way around the valuation fee, but you could probably add the product fee to the mortgage, and then immediately overpay it when the mortgage starts. Saves the risk of losing the product fee if things fall through.0 -

22 July: Valuation and home buyer's survey.
23 July: Valuation results with Woolwich. Broker reports this has come in at asking price with no obvious problems. Case has been sent for final checks and should hopefully be offered by the end of the week. :T0 -
7th July: DIP from Nationwide and full application submitted via broker.
10th July: Request for additional documentation. Some of this I had to order to be posted out to me.
11th July: Submitted the additional documentation that I had to hand.
14 July: Text from Nationwide saying valuation booked, but date was missing.
18 July: Finally received additional documentation through post and submitted that. Asked broker to check when valuation was booked for. Found out it had been put on hold, as no-one had returned the valuers' calls. Grr. Broker chased for me.
22 July: Asked broker for update on valuation. Still not booked. He chased again. Text at the end of the day to say valuation is booked for 28 July.
So that's where I'm at. I'm buying a shared ownership property, so it's already been valued in order to set the fixed price I'm purchasing for, so I'm not too worried about that. But I guess I'll now have to wait a week before I hear anything else (unless Nationwide decide they want to see yet more paperwork).
I've also been progressing the solicitor side of things - have sent them various forms, and money for searches. They somehow managed to lose my original cheque (I'm convinced they threw it out with the envelope), so I had to resend on Monday, and now waiting for that to clear before they'll do the searches.
I find it very antiquated having to pay by cheque, but it's a requirement of theirs that I make any payments that way. Is this standard for solicitors? My cheque book is ten years old (the date issued is on the cheques), because I've so rarely needed to use them.0 -
Nervously awaiting our decision.
MiP with Natwest agreed on 20.6.14.
Full application made on 8.7.14.
Our LTV is 66.7%
I'm a FTB but my partner is a homeowner. He's a lot more chilled, whereas I'm a nervy bundle. It's only been two weeks, but I am desperate for news. Is there anything I can do/ check/ look at to see if there is any progress? How long at Natwest taking at the moment?
pembssurf, I hope you've had some good news today!0 -

Thanks.
Hi Gamehungry,
The offer's sent by post to the solicitor as well as you and that can take up to 3 or 4 working days. If you need the offer to be with your solicitor more quickly, I'd recommend getting in touch with the branch to ask whether they can fax it.
Thanks,

I already posted on here the story of getting my mortgage applied for, flat valued, and the offer letter through, but that wasn't the end of the story...
The latest thing is that the solicitor has informed Nationwide that my council-owned flat has 'section 20 notices' which mean they are going to do some works to the block and the leaseholders will have to pay. In my case this is £4k for some electrical works, although there is more to come in the future (not yet officially notified through S20).
Now hoping that Nationwide will still lend me the money at the rate agreed..... A friend of mine had to have a higher interest rate at the last minute because his bank said the information had affected their view of the property value :-(
Fingers crossed!0 -
I'm so sick of waiting now, no idea how long we're supposed to be waiting for, no info from the broker, don't even know if Halifax have requested any documents yet.
Good luck to those hoping to here today.0 -

You've been waiting a week - I think it's reasonable to email your broker and ask if there's any update yet.0 -
I'll join this just to pass the time that Nawest are taking!
23/06/14 - Put in Application
27/06/14 - They decide to look at it
01/07/14 - They want me to confirm my address in writing despite having photo ID with address on and utility bills etc
02/07/14 - Receive letter which i fill n my address and post straight back
08/07/14 - Request P60 Bank statements and an explanation of why my husbands salary shows an abbrieviation instead of the full company name on his bank statements (how about its too bloody long to fit on the page lol)
Sent all this info in straight away and heard absolutely nothing.
Every time we get told 3 working days what are they doing in these 3 working days!
Frustrating!
Week 4 and still they want little bits every few days. things to sign to say that the thing we signed before was signed by us... !!!!!!!
Various other bits n bobs but why not ask for all this from the start instead of all these delays week after week...0
