Hi Jandaz
Yes isn't it nerve wracking ! Told by Nationwide yesterday that if I don't have the right contract with my agency we will not get an offer. They are not interested in P60s or my payslips although I have worked with my agency for the past 3 yrs. Im just waiting to hear back from my agency about my contract as I cant find mine. Although I don't think I have any assured hours of work, it has just turned out they have got me regular work. Hopefully know more today.
Hang in there Jandaz, it will work out for us0 -
Cherry_Gale wrote: »Thanks for sharing stories everyone, here's mine as a FTB of a leasehold flat in council block in London (empty, no chain):
17/4 saw flat, put in offer, accepted same day
23/4 sent docs to mortgage broker
2/5 called broker for progress, more documents needed
15/5 message from Nationwide "FMA received"
28/5 need to update documents to bank, including savings. Asked broker if declaration of gift for deposit needed (no reply)
10/6 broker says declaration of gift for deposit needed (!)
20/6 mortgage valuation booked for 2/7...
2/7 survey completed
3/7 text messages from Nationwide: 'satisfactory valuation received' and 'we have now issued a formal mortgage offer'.
My broker put in the form for a revised offer yesterday (because the details of the mortgage amount and price were wrong before), and this morning it came through!
A mere 11 weeks after first passing my documents to a mortgage broker, I have got my offer! A couple of weeks of this were waiting for the surveyor's availability, and there was a week's pause in the middle when we renegotiated the price. It is hard to know exactly what took up the other 8 weeks, but my broker was very slow to pass things to the bank, ignored emails and worked only by phone and consequently made mistakes. I know many people on here have had an excellent service from their brokers, so there seems to be quite a variety of standards out there. If I ever buy a flat again I will ask around for a recommendation!0 -

29 May: AIP from Woolwich through broker
28 June: offer made
30 June: offer accepted
1 July: all docs to broker and EA. Solicitor contacted.
2 July: confirmation of instruction given to solicitor.
No chain either end, so we are hoping for quick and painless. Fingers crossed!
8 July: first round of documents given to solicitor. Full mortgage application submitted by broker.0 -
We have been waiting 10 weeks since we first submitted out applications. Our broker said the mortgage valuation was done on Monday and that once this is done the lender does a final check then we should get our offer! Does anyone know what the final checks are? And how long will it take for completion as we are suppose to be moving 2 weeks on Monday!!! So stressed!0

My application to Principality Building Society was submitted yesterday 7.7.14 by my MA. Signed docs today ( declaration of information and direct debit mandate) scanned and emailed back. I had a decision in principle offered on the 3.7.14 and an entry of 'first mortgage' has been registered on my credit file. Had anyone had any experience with Principality or know what 'first mortgage' means on credit file? Is this a 'soft search' or a full credit check?
I passed my driving test with less stress!
Thanks in advance.0 -

Our story:
10th May 2014: First Viewing
11th May 2014: Second Viewing
14th May 2014: Offer Accepted
14th May 2014: DIP from HSBC
21st May 2014: Solicitors Instructed
7th June 2014: First meeting with HSBC
Mid-June 2014: Lending confirmed as agreed subject to valuation
Mid-June 2014: Sale contract agreed but awaiting searches
Start of July: Second meeting with HSBC booked
Start of July: Valuation to take place
Hoping that by mid-July all is sorted and we can exchange and complete but the last 8-9 weeks have made me age more than my very demanding job and wife!
Fingers crossed and good luck all those in the same/similar position.
Hi all, by way of update, had the second meeting with HSBC. Mortgage documents all signed up and offer is apparently in the post (albeit subject to valuation).
An intial sigh of relief but still a way to go to get this over the line in 3 weeks.
Good luck all!0 -
Our valuation came back today and it's the same as what we offered just waiting on the mortgage offer now0
