Ironically, this time my broker got me a DIP and has now taken my full application to Natwest, even though he knows they declined me in the past. But that original application never went to underwriters, it was simply a face to face application where the 'computer said no.' This time, via the broker, details of wage slips, P60, proof of deposit, bank statements etc have been sent to the underwriters. I'm still apprehensive, I have to admit. The waiting is absolutely killing me
You should be ok - was declined DIP with Santander & Halifax, Nat West gave me DIP, but was worried until I got the offer! Been in my new house a month now!0 -
Long time follower of this post so thought I may as we'll join in, because of self employment and adverse credit we are having to go through a broker who then goes to a packager(Solent) who then goes to the lender( kent reliant) , so this is our long winded journey so far.........
08/02/14-house came on market
11/02/14-1st viewing
14/02/14-dip with KRBS
18/02/14-2nd viewing and made an offer
18/02/14-offer excepted
28/02/14- lender decides to remover product off market so Dip withdrawn
03/03/14- lender decides we can have the product as long as submitted before a certain date and prior mmr change
18/03/14- packager wants more paperwork for my husband (only my husbands salary counts towards mortgage as I'm self employed)
21/03/14-packager wants paperwork from myself as now say I need to have my name on it as we are married but my salary doesn't count
25/03/14-survey done (lender wants survey done before they have even looked at our paper work)
25/03/14- packager tell us original solicitors is no good. 8 solicitors later we find one that meets their criteria
25/03/14- requested more paperwork
26/03/14- full application submitted including everything they have asked for
08/04/14- requested yet more paperwork
25/04/14- lender updating their system for mmr
25/04/14- surprise surprise mortgage declined due to mmr
25/04/14-lender offers mortgage but at £40,000 less
28/04/14- complaint submitted due to paperwork being in well before mmr went live
30/04/14- lender excepts complaint and admits we shouldn't of been assed under mmr so will asses us under old rules and management are now dealing with our case
30/04/14-lender wants proof I'm not financially dependent on husband!
1/05/14- spoke to my accountant asked could they send proof over to lender of my 2nd yr accounts(I had just finished my 2nd year so accounts hadn't been done yet)
14/05/14- lender offers £6000 below original offer which is fine as we have the extra cash luckily just means no money left in the pot
14/05/14-lender decides they now want my full accounts done even though my income supposedly doesn't count!
30/05/14- lender now wants all our bank statements, pay slips and p60s again as it's gone on for so long they need new ones!!
03/06/14-new paperwork submitted
03/06/14 full accounts submitted
04/06/14-top underwriter apparently going into packagers office to sort complaints and surprise surprise they aren't familiar with our case
13/06/14- lender not happy my accounts say draft ( only draft as I was missing 1 month bank statement so accountant needed that before he could sign off)
13/06/14- lender decides they want husbands bank statements but must be statements from postman through the door not ones stamped from the bank!
13/06/14- after an hour in the bank I get the missing bank statement ( I had previously closed this account that's why was proving difficult to find)
16/06/14- accountant finished my accounts and sent straight off
Because this has gone on for so long we can now put an application in with another lender seeing as I now have 2 years accounts
16/06/14-Dip with aldermore
We are now running 2 applications side by side
Every time we submitted anything it took 7-10 working days to get back to us as every time we submitted something again we would go to the back of the Que.
My husband has gone direct to the packager and lender on some occasions to try get more answers and most occasions received bad customer service particularly from the packaging company. In all of this we are still none the wiser if the kent mortgage is now taking my salary in to account and if they are now going to asses us under mmr rules
Tomorrow we are having a new survey done with Aldermore so iv everything crossed this all goes through quick and smoothly. Luckily the venders are really understanding and are willing to wait
Yay today we finally got the call our mortgage offer is in the post! :j0 -

It's early days for me and I'm already frustrated by waiting for things to happen.
I met with my mortgage broker on Monday (7th), and got a DIP with Nationwide, and he then submitted the full application. They wanted some additional documents at the time, and then the broker got in touch yesterday to say they wanted more. I've sent them 32 different documents so far!! And some of those were actually more than one thing which I'd scanned in together. I've had to order a paper statement from NS&I, which is coming by snail mail, so waiting for that is going to slow things down, frustratingly. I fully expect that Nationwide will then ask for more once they've had a look at this latest lot. Grr!
And in the meantime, I don't think my solicitor has even received a memorandum of sale yet (two weeks in), so hasn't started anything. I've chased the housing association for this (shared ownership, so they are the equivalent to an estate agents in this sale), and they have just ignored me. Great.0 -

Nope. I'm not the most patient of people but it's really getting me down at the moment! 6 weeks since offer accepted, 4 since application, just emailed the broker to ask how things are going. I asked on Monday and he said everything is ok but it'd be nice to just know what's going on, I don't even know if there's been a valuation yet.
Am I supposed to contact the solicitor at all or just leave them to get on with it? I'm just presuming everything is ticking along behind the scenes as the EA hasn't contacted me for any info so they probably know more than me!0 -

This. I genuinely didn't consider just how stressful it'd be, I thought it was the moving itself that's stressful but heavy lifting is a doddle in comparison!0 -

With no mortgage offer in place there's absolutely no point in expending time and energy. Better to deal with matters that are definately progressing.0 -

Fair play to HSBC, had heard such horror stories about them but they've been excellent with us.0 -
My story so far.....
House sold after 3 days on market (yay): 16/06/14
Offer accepted on our purchase (yay): 18/06/14
DIP with Platform Mortgages: 26/06/14
Full Mortgage application with Platform: 28/06/14
Platform started to look at application: 8/07/14

Now waiting on my employer actually receiving the employer reference request (been 3 days).....and I've just noticed on the Platform website that receipt of post is taking up to 20 WORKING days!!! ....What the ???
Really hope it doesn't take 4 weeks to get back to the application!!0
