After a staggering 9 weeks on tenterhooks waiting for Accord Mortgages to get their act together, numerous pleas for more information, not accepting our new childcare (subsidized rates), being declined on affordability, NOT being declined on affordability (£600 less then we asked for).

Saying that it is accepted- woo! Then........it's a NO.

Trouble with the signature on my passport (that I signed aged 16) not matching my current sig.

Constant questions about a standing order of £25 I give to my mum a month.

Being declined again because OH didn't have a pension plan (he does, and I'm 10 years younger anyway so I would still be working when term is up).

Being tentatively back on when being sent information that he indeed DOES have a pension plan and provision.

Another 2 weeks of "It'll be confirmed tomorrow/ another 2 days"

FINALLY final checks- ask for daughter's birth date....almost school age, turns out we CAN have the full amount.....OFFER IN POST YESTERDAY! I'll only believe when it's in black and white in my hands!

MA said they are never going to use Accord again. By the way, we have perfect credit scores, never defaulted, CURRENT CUSTOMERS OF FOUR YEARS- and we still had all of this messing about!!

As soon as the fixed term is up we're jumping ship, but right now- delighted!

    Good luck everyone!

The mortgage valuation finally took place yesterday. Frustratingly after all the delays he was in the property for less than five minutes and then said "no problems" and left! Now we wait for the mortgage offer. It's a remortgage to raise capital for our new home that completes in a week. I hope things are sorted in time.

    Ack I'm joining the wait!

    25th April - 1st Viewing
    28th April - 2nd Viewing
12th June - Put offer in
    13th June - Offer Accepted
14th June - Received DiP & Solicitiors Quote
30th June - Paid partial deposit
3rd July - Received official offer, mortgage application submitted, Home buyers survey paid for

    Hmm...

I think the order is slightly out of sync there.

Oh I'm finally on this thread!

We passed the affordability checks on Monday 30th June with Ulster Bank

Heading into the bank today to make our full joint application 4th July, I'm so scared :(

Our last mortgage was solely in my husbands name, he has an offer currently for the move but we need more than he can get alone, so here goes both of us!

    - 5th June DIP
    - 7th Offer accepted on Property
    - 9th - Seller dies
    - 11th- Probate being (2 week delay)
    - 24th sent all documents ect
    - 24th Underwiters ok
    - 25th Final underwriting checks to be done
    - Solicitors state they are running contracts alongside probate.
    - 4th July - Now waiting horribly for offer

Please alongside this, found out my mom had cancer in June, along with the seller killing himself just 3 days after accepting our offer. Been a real ride. And really hope this all goes well.

Bless you Seanjohnson, sounds like you've not had it easy especially with your mum being diagnosed with cancer and the seller committing suicide

Newish member and joining the 'waiting for mortgage decision' queue.

    My timeline is as follows:

25/05/14 - First viewing of house when they had an open house although house slightly above our budget
    02/06/14 - Decision in Principle
03/06/14 - Second viewing following reduction in asking price
04/06/14 - Offer put in and agreed to meet in the middle with seller
    09/06/14 - Full application via L& C
10/06/14 - Email text from woolwich/Barclays to confirm application received
12/06/14 - Further documents requested by lender
19/06/14 - On line tracker indicate application has been reviewed by underwriter and valuation instructed .
24/06/14 - Text from e-surv stating valuation booked in for 25/06/14 morning

All gone well so far :)

Woolwich/Barclays seem to have changed their tracker system and not bothered updating it properly which is annoying right now as tracker now state valuation not booked yet while mortgage adviser state this was done last week and come back ok.
25/06/2014 - further documents requested by lender and sent the following day
27/06/2014 - text from e.surv stating report ready and can be downloaded
30/06/2014 - contacted lender who confirms that they received requested documents Friday evening and case will be decided in 3 working days.
03/07/2014 - contact lender to check progress as tracker never updated now. They state that there were issues with property address as some documents state South humberside while others state North Lincolnshire. I confirm that this is the same thing. Really frustrated as I now have to wait for another 3 working days for something that could have easily been verified. That's what you get for having underwriters based in another country. Really frustrated right now

    Hi guys,

    Details as follows:

    17/06 - offer accepted
20/06 - application made and credit check with Woolwich passed
    23/06 - valuation fee taken

Just waiting for the underwriters to do their work now... the Woolwich intermediary website suggests they are on a 6 working day timescale now so optimistically hoping to hear back on Thurs or Fri...

Despite chasing my MA yesterday and being told we wouldn't hear anything until next week, received a call from the EAs today saying that the survey has been booked for Wed :)

Updated MA (ironic!) who said that the underwriting process must therefore be done! Such a relief. I didn't even get asked for any extra docs, the original pack submitted must have been that good ;)

Fingers crossed on the valuation now (and the vendor finding somewhere to buy!).

Not long home from our application, it wasn't as bad as I thought.

So here's my timeline so far

    30/06 AIP
    04/07 full application made

Have been advised we'll get a call by Wednesday to confirm a decision and it'll be up to 2 weeks after that for all the paperwork to be with the solicitor, the person doing our mortgage at the bank was incredibly positive but I'm still very nervous

The house we want is a new build, however it's up and just needs finished inside by the builder so hoping to be in comfortably by Halloween if successful.
