Hi all, thought I would share ours too, especially as its a post MMR application!

3/5 - Viewed, made an offer and had offer accepted on property
3/5 - Speak to Halifax, who we had an AIP with Pre-MMR to find they have pulled the deal we wanted (stamp duty paid as I am a FTB)
7/5 - Meet with MA to discuss other options.
12/5 - Submit all docs to MA so we can apply to Marsden BS for an AIP
16/5 - AIP is successful, prepare for full application
19/5 - Full application is submitted
20/5 - Marsden call me to take first fee of £299, tells me the average processing time is 4 weeks, but could be less as we have an AIP already.

    Update -

23/5 - Money taken for valuation and they request a few more payslips

30/5 - we find out today from the sellers that the first date they are free to do the valuation and survey is 19 June!!! 3 weeks away!

Needless to say the sellers aren't too happy, nor are we... Have rung the lenders to put pressure on them but I dont know what else I can do to speed this up...?

    So frustrating!

    Eighth Anniversary Combo Breaker
    Here's my timeline so far:

15th April - Our house went on the market
20th May - 13 viewings later we accepted an offer
    21st May - Appointed solicitor
26th May - Offer accepted on house we are buying
26th May - Started online application with Halifax
28th May - Completed application over the phone
29th May - Submitted wageslips in branch

The survey on our house is booked for 4th June and the survey for the house we are buying for the 5th!

Very impressed with Halifax so far so thank you to everyone who has posted regarding their speed. Our first mortgage was with the Co-op and the whole process was horrible.
    Mortgage (Start Sep 2014)- £70,295/£0 - 100%
    Overpayments - £48829.37 :j:j:j
    Mortgage paid off Jan 2020

So i'm not entirely sure how this has happened.
But, after our application going in Wednesday, we received our mortgage offer today. It's being sent in the post and I have just viewed a soft copy in an email from my broker.

    So:

28th: DIP. Mortgage app made with all documents sent. Survey done and booked.
    29th: Survey done.
30th: Survey given at 10:00am, decision by 3pm.

Is this too good to be true?

22/05/14 Got the search result and contract from the Solicitor now ready for exchange... but still need that blasted Mortgage offer which we won't get until June because the valuation won't take until the 29th of May :(

Did I mention that I HATE waiting?

29/05/14 Valuation carried out, report sent to lender the same day
30/05/14 Apparently the incentive form had a wrong date on it, lender wants current date, all that was sent off as well and just got an Email saying the offer is authorised and will go out Monday/Tuesday

    Congratulations!

Our consultant at Halifax said we should hear today, but no news yet. He's been lovely all the way through, too!

Getting worried that no news isn't good news, now :( Did email him at 12:30 to ask if we were still on track to hear today, so not sure if I should call again ... I'm so impatient and a born worrier - buying a house is like torture!! :o

I know, I think you should get some form of free counselling service with it! You shall be fine, halifax have been v quick today. If you don't hear today, no news IS good news. I have been trying to get in touch with a halifax adviser all day and they were busy, so you're prob likely to hear round about now when he's appointment free. i have everything crossed !! xx

I know, i'm a bit concerned at how quick it went through to be honest - they do all the underwriting before they offer don't they!?? Yeah just instructed solicitor now. The mortgage offer says we should be completed by the 16th June. I'm not looking at bathroom suites...! I am literally to scared to spend any more on my debit card in case it goes against me lol, i panicked buying a bag of lettuce today!!! Keep me updated about your situation xx
