Oh I am so pleased to have found this thread and to know its not just me that gets stressed at all of this! My OH keeps telling me to stop getting stressed out - like that helps!
Our situation is quite complicated....we have an AIP done just about a month ago. Our verbal offer on the property was accepted last week and we have instructed our solicitor to make the official offer in writing.
I have 2 jobs and the main one is technically a zero hour contract (although I do have the same hours every month) so they are having to base our mortgage offer on the most recent 3 months payslips. Also the payslips are insanely complicated too so thats throwing up issues. So we are having to have our AIP re-assessed and the wait is killing me. If its a no, I can handle it (kinda!) but its the not knowing that is driving me mad.
Frustrating too that our mortgage will be less than we pay in rent at the moment - paid rent for 14 years, never been late or missed a payment. It means so much, don't know how I will manage the next few days until we know the answer. If we get the AIP, we will be starting the actual application within a few days so the fresh agony will begin0 -
My timeline so far:
October 2013 – Get AIP from Leeds BS and put my house on the market
01/03/2014 – Accepted an offer on my house (£105,000 – Bought for £85,000 in 2010)
03/03/2014 – View some properties and make an offer
05/03/2014 – My offer was accepted
06/03/2014 – EA tells me that buyers are having second thoughts
10/03/2014 – Buyers reduce offer by £5,000 which I reject so they withdraw their original offer
24/03/2014 - Accept a new offer (£106,500)
04/04/2014 – Send full application to Leeds BS along with documentation
14/04/2014 – Receive paper work back from Leeds BS
22/04/2014 – Leeds BS say application being looked at today will get an update by 25th
25/04/2014 – Leeds BS decline mortgage but do not let me know
29/04/2014 – I ring Leeds BS to chase, inform me that they have declined
29/04/2014 – Contact London and Country
30/04/2014 – London and country submit DIP to Halifax
01/05/2014 – L and country say Halifax declined at DIP and that they cannot help me
01/05/2014 – Contact specialist broker who gets DIP from Precise Mortgages
06/05/2014 – Get official letter informing my I have been declined
09/05/2014 – Full application to Precise submitted
16/05/2014 – Brokers ask for more documents
19/05/2014 – Valuation conducted
21/05/2014 – Precise ask how I intend to pay increased mortgage payment and I respond
21/05/2014 – Get valuation report back and recommends damp and timber survey
28/05/2014 – Precise contact me to confirm that I want product fee added to loan as there was conflicting info in application. Indicate they are satisfied with everything and just need final check, can expect offer in next 24 to 48 hours.
I know it’s not confirmed until they actually issue the offer but I am so relieved to hear things are almost over. There have been so many times that I’ve thought I was going to have to pull out of my purchase and rent instead.
Just hope the damp and timber survey doesn’t reveal anything major.0 -
Hey,
Thought I would join this. We are FTB's waiting for a decision from clydesdale bank.
06/05 Offer Accepted
08/05 Mortgage application submitted with all documentation they could possibly want!
19/05 Valuation done on property
I have now been told I should hear in 6 working days. I have my fingers well and truly crossed.
I am a bit worried as I found a single late payment on my credit card from 31 months ago (my credit file is otherwise in great shape). My MA has told me not to worry though as she doesn't think this will impact their decision.
Best of luck to all you lot too.
UPDATE:
Is anyone else dealing with Clydesdale?
I was told on the 22/05 by my broker that I could expect a decision with the next 6 working days as they had received the valuation report.
I range broker today for another update and I have now been tol my case is now in a queue for final sign off that can take approx. 7 working days. It is currently with the credit team wwhich takes 2 days apparently and then will be passed to the underwriters to issue the offer who have a turnaround of 5 working days! I am losing my patience especially with revised time lines. The vendor wants a quick sale but I am reluctant to spend more money doing searches etc until I have my offer!

Hi, am hoping that all the people here going through this process can offer some help.
After many requests for extra documents have been at valuation stage since around 10th May.
Valuation happened yesterday so I assumed all was moving forward. Can't get hold of MA today so rang building society directly.
Frustratingly they are still awaiting documents I sent to my MA last week (P60, recent bank statement).
1) I thought, from reading previous posts that the valuation being booked and paid for meant good progress but maybe not if they are still waiting for those documents?
2) Also, building society stated the valuation has 'recommended some reports'. They are posting the valuation to me but in the mean time would anyone have a idea what reports they normally suggest?
Thanks all.0 -
