Thanks, solicitors details show they've had damp proofing done just recently, I'm guessing the roof might be an issue as there are solar panels. We were waiting for mortgage approval to organise full survey as we've already had to start paying solicitor and paid for valuation and still not heard anything regards to getting the mortgage. Worried that we may get declined and have spent a small fortune of our savings to get nowhere.0 -
Hi how did you find the process and what were your circs if you dont mind me asking as we will be applying with natwest shortly......so nervous! !!!
took 6 weeks from application to offer

Moving quite quickly though I'm sure there'll be some hidden things!
I'm on a fixed term contract till December 2014, which has been renewed previously. 3 years continuous employment in similar industry with no gaps! Other half is permenant!

With halifax. They've only asked for 1 months pay slips from each of us too which I'm quite concerned about - especially with my situation. Broker has everything from past 6 months anyway lol!
I know with halifax the valuation is done before the underwriting so I am nowhere near relaxed yet lol!!0 -
20-21/05 - Update from our Mortgage Advisor at Natwest - the underwriters are happy and have instructed the valutaion (taken the money for it too). Now we're just waiting for the valuation date text message!
28-05 - Still waiting for the date of the valution - apparently the surveyors are really busy in this area at the moment. Our MA @ Natwest is keeping an eye out for us (after me chasing her again yesterday - she'll be sick of me soon! :rotfl:)
I don't think I've ever disliked weekends/bank holidays like I do at the moment!0 -

looking good then - Nat West are more or less happy to lend you the money.
With mine, it was undervalued by £5k - luckily the vendor dropped £4k and I put the other £1K in.
I exchanged contracts today, money will come through tomorrow (Nat West require 7 days notice) ready for completion Friday - Good Luck0 -

Congrats on your exchange & hope the completion goes through without a hitch :T
I can't wait to get to that point, although I have a lot of stuff to get sorted before then (major house/garage clear-out & pack up of non essentials!) I'm looking forward to not paying rent!0
