    @lf93 Yes that is a way off! I know we wouldn't be able muster up 15k very easily! Do you mind me asking how much you were looking to borrow??

    @chezFTB 350k, 80% LTV.
    Halifax app went in at around 8:30am today and apparently desktop valuation has already been completed?! Now we just wait for a decision which from what I've read comes quite quickly after valuation, but surely I was expecting at least a week...!

    Thanks, fingers crossed. Cue eagerly refreshing emails every half hour... hard to find a distraction these days!
  • We had our AIP approved with BOI on 15/01 and our broker has told us we should hear the underwriters response today. I’m so nervous! We don’t have adverse credit, but we do have quite a lot of credit (around £9k) that we’re steadily paying off. Our broker seemed quite confident, as we’re FTB, comfortable with affordability, and have 15% deposit, but I know I won’t rest until it’s all confirmed!

    We just got our mortgage offer from Natwest and thought I'd provide timelines in case this helps anyone. We went through the process with L&C as our mortgage brokers who basically did everything for us.
    • FRI 22/01/21 application submitted and AIP received immediately
    • SAT 23/01/21 mortgage broker advised us that Natwest requested further documentation (3 months payslips & 3 months bank statements) meaning they've been underwriting the case on Friday afternoon. I applied with my partner, I am a EU citizen, my partner is British. Natwest also wanted a copy of my passport and visa valid at the time of application, no ID requested for my British partner.
    • MON 25/01/21 additional documentation was provided by us and uploaded onto the portal by L&C
    • THU 28/01/21 mortgage offer received
    To be honest, I was shocked at how quickly we got the offer. We were told by our broker that given current circumstances, things take a lot longer than they usually do and average time from application to offer was 6 weeks roughly. Therefore we were surprised to get the offer in less than a week!
    Just for completeness, we are both in full term employment, first time buyers and have a decent deposit in place. LTV is less than 75% and both of us have excellent credit score according to Experian. We didn't hear anything about Natwest doing a valuation so not sure what exactly they did in terms of valuation and when this was done (I would assume a desktop one).
  • Just had my offer from tsb today,  submitted on 11th.  10% deposit

    Exactly 1 week after application, we've had verbal confirmation of our mortgage offer from our broker from Halifax :) very relieved!

    Full application put in to Nationwide on Sunday. No hard searches as yet so presuming it not been looked at. Checking emails and credit scores all the time. This is so stressful.
