    So anxious waiting for reply from Newcastle Building Society. DIP via broker before Christmas, valuation done first week of Jan and all docs submitted.
    An issue flagged when they asked employer for reference - my pay is broken down into basic plus enhancements for out of hours work, which is contracted. HR said it wasn't guaranteed so had to redo the reference with different wording. They sent that back on Friday. Now just nail biting wait to hear back to see if what they wrote was adequate! No idea how long it will take.

    Argh we are anxiously waiting too. Valuation done last week (14th) and still no news from Nationwide. Now in NI, where we used to live (London commuter town) for our previous two houses they just did a drive by! This is a house with approx 4.5 acres land in sticks so a bit harder to value, I guess!
  • Hoping we get some news tomorrow;
    Virgin Money Mortgage - £285K
    Porting existing mortgage and applying for additional £75k
    DIP - 26th November
    Application submitted - 23rd December
    Application reviewed and need Januarys payslip to show reduction in childcare costs - 31 December
    Payslip submitted - 13th January
    Valuation carried out - 13th January
    Valuation report sent to solicitor - 18th January
    Called Virgin for an update and is with underwriters with a target date of 20th January - 19th January

    Does anyone have experience of porting and additional borrowing with Virgin?
  • Hi, I created a thread but then saw this!

    Same position with me and my husband.  He has no income but i still had to put him on the application.  Some lenders insist on this
