I wish you all the best with your application 🤞🏼. We went through a broker who suggested Halifax and we have received our offer now (over the moon). Hope all goes well 😊Sotts said:
Same position with me and my husband. He has no income but i still had to put him on the application. After not being offered the lending amount we want/need by our first application which went in mid December, today (I think!) our broker is putting an application in with Halifax. Slightly more expensive rate but on the flipside I'm reading here that they are pretty quick at giving a decision, so fingers crossed we might have a mortgage offer soon!
Are they mostly doing desktop valuations? We paid for a physical one with our first application (and topped it up to a homebuyer's survey), bit annoying to pay again for essentially the same thing.1 -
Halifax did a physical survey on our property for our remortgage.lf93 said:After not being offered the lending amount we want/need by our first application which went in mid December, today (I think!) our broker is putting an application in with Halifax. They were very quick though. They booked it in for the day after we submitted the full application!0 -
We paid £200 for the valuation but I’m not sure how it was conducted. Our offer with Halifax was received a few days after the money for the valuation was taken. I hope that helps. Good luck 🤞🏼lf93 said:Are they mostly doing desktop valuations? No, although I think our broker is waiting to hear back. They said within 48h last Weds and still haven't said why so we've pretty much sacked it off in the interest of time. We met their published criteria so not sure why, something to do with the breakdown of my income.chezFTB said:@lf93 Did Newcastle tell you why they didn't offer the full amount? We are waiting for a decision from them (application submitted last week) and can't find any more info on these forums on what they are like!1 -

Solicitor requested funds from Halifax on Monday. Due to complete next Monday (1st Feb). I haven’t exchanged contracts yet but they do have my deposit and they’ve got everything they need. My solicitor said they’re waiting for confirmation of funds being sent from Halifax before they exchange contracts. Feels like the end of what feels like a long wait is almost here 🤞FTB with Halifax

Quite a bit off (for us anyway!) - 15k. Although I don't think the back and forth discussion of numbers between them and our broker constituted a formal mortgage offer. But hopefully it shouldn't be too difficult for you!chezFTB said:@lf93 ahhhh okay thank you. Was the offer far off what you asked for?? I know it’s early as we o it submitted the application on friday but I do like to be prepared!1
