Hi  how long are Santander currently taking for an offer.
We applied directly online (based in Scotland)
Application went in on 13th October
    Hard Search done on 15th
email received Valuation Instructed on 16th
giftor signed letter requested on 17th.
Ours was quite quick With Santander, we did use a broker though.
Full application went in on 1st October.
    Hard search same day
valuation done on 14th October and the confirmation of offer was with us at 6.50pm that night.

I was expecting at least a week wait after the valuation so nearly fell off my chair when it came through!

Hopefully yours will be as quick! 👍
Congratulations on your offer! Do you know if an automatic valuation was done as soon as your application was received with Santander? Mines was received on the 11/10 and automatic valuation was done a few hours later and nothing since x

Thank you. I had to have a glass of wine for the shock of it coming in so quick! Im pretty sure they did the visit to the house on ours, I had about 50 texts from the surveyor. 😂

All up to date and happy!

I've been following this thread for a while and now its my turn!
Full application has just been submitted to Halifax today through a mortgage advisor for 85% LTV so let's see how is goes.

  • Offer accepted - 5th Oct
DIP NatWest through broker - 13th Oct (although no hard check on credit file!)
Soft search on credit file - 15th Oct (realised broker had got my partners DOB wrong when we checked our Experian credit report)
Money taken out for valuation - 16th Oct

    Offer accepted - 23rd September.
Bit of back and forth discussion with broker, then full application submitted 1st October to Virgin Money. 65% LTV.
Desktop valuation done last week (don't know exactly when).
Offer arrived in the post 20th October.

    Virgin Money.
All docs sent by Broker on 9th Oct.
hard check done on credit file twice (I think they misspelled my partner’s name first time)
    Valuation yesterday (20th).
Turnaround on valuation is 4 days so hoping for the ok on Monday or Friday.
Trying not to stress. This is the second time we’ve tried to buy this place so I am pretty sure the conveyancing will be ok. Just the mortgage offer to get approved. Hoping the seller doesn’t get cold feet waiting (unlikely... we have moved as fast as possible on all this!)

  • Hi everyone. Reading your stories and progress updates has been very helpful and reassuring so thank you. In return, here is our progress with mortgage journey with NatWest (75% LTV) and Help to Buy:
    • 2/9 - Help to buy ATP submitted
    • 15/10 - ATP approved
    • 16/10 - Agreement in Principle received (soft search on credit file)
    • 19/10 - Full application submitted (hard search on credit file)
    • 20/10 - SA302 and payslips pending review.
    • 20/10 - Valuation instructed.

    Thanks
    Tim

Mortgage application status (Halifax) - Help to Buy + Mortgage at 75% LTV

    • 2/9 - Help to buy ATP submitted.
    • 15/10 - ATP approved.
    • 22/10 - 9/11 NatWest application declined
    • Halifax
    • 9/11 - Agreement in Principle received (soft search on credit file).
    • 10/11- Full application submitted (hard search on credit file).
    • 12/11 - Mortgage offer subject to valuation
    • 26/11 - Valuation carried out.
    • 2/12 - Offer issued
  • Is anyone able to shed light on the timeframe between valuation and offer? The MA emailed to say the valuation passed last Thursday (15th) but still not had any updates, is this normal?

    Thanks :)

Application went in with Coventry Building Society 15th October
Can see hard checks on my Clearscore record on the 16th.
I'm hoping this will be pretty straight forward although we are after 90% LTV. Anyone know Coventry times at the moment?
I’ve also put in with Coventry for 10% LTV on 15th. Coventry were doing a 2 day offer for 10% so got our application in before the deadline. Nervously waiting... would the lockdown restrictions play any part of them declining it and deciding against 10% deposits now?

Have you heard anything back from them yet?
