Mortgage Offer TODAY! 18/09
We are completely overwhelmed! We aren't the best on paper, with defaults in the past and some missed payments but Accord take a case by case approach and they listened to our reasoning for what they question and were happy. I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! A month ago we were going for a 4.5% mortgage with Kensington and today we received an offer for a 2.3% mortgage. We will now be paying only £80 more for our 3-bed detached house with a garage than our current terraced 2 bed house that is shoebox-size!1 -
What a journey, finally have a mortgage offer from Coventry via. Habito. Lots of questions and back and forth, waiting around a week each time for Coventry to reply.mageliken said:Jumping on the bandwagon, exciting!
20th July - Viewing.
20th July - AIP from broker (Trussle).
23rd July - Second viewing. AIP from broker (Habito) - quite a bit less than Trussle. First offer made.
30th July - Subsequent offer made and verbally accepted.
31st July - Instructed solicitor, received written offer acceptance.
2nd Aug - Nationwide mortgage selected via. Habito. Waiting for Habito to submit to Nationwide.
4th Aug - I realised Nationwide put their rates up and nudged Habito. Now looking at lenders again...
5th Aug - Recommended Coventry product. Some additional documentation checks. Broker runs affordability.
7th Aug - Affordability passed. Coventry AIP came back as referred. Hard credit search carried out.
11th Aug - AIP received. Application submitted.
17th September - Mortgage offer received0 -

Still no clue what's happening. Was expecting many more questions as I'm SE. Now I'm terrified of a down valuation :S

They’re fairly fast timescales. I’m also with Santander. Out of curiosity - how do you know when it’s with Underwriter?monetxchange said:

I think the valuation has been booked alongside it being with the underwriters to be honest. I think I've read that's common with Santander. My broker has been keeping in contact with Santander and updating me. I'm very much expecting it to be with the underwriters for ages with loads of questions coming! How has yours been going?ftbhoping said:

@monetxchange we applied 26/8 and valuation was Tuesday. I have been told today that it needs to move within a week so called MB and they contacted Santander this afternoon. Apparently it has been to Underwriter and is agreed pending valuation sign-off which will be another 48 hours. They said it’s sitting on system ready for final approval. I know that is good news but really not excited until it’s confirmed. We’re both SE and have had zero questions so not convinced UW has even looked at it 🤷🏼♀️0

This is it - you don't want to get your hopes up because you're forever expecting the worst! Fingers crossed for you that it'll somehow turn out to be a straight forward one with minimal UW engagement!ftbhoping said:@monetxchange we applied 26/8 and valuation was Tuesday.
