First Time Buyer - HTB Equity Loan - New Build - Halifax via Broker
    MIP - 05/09
    Property reservation - 06/09
    Full Application submitted - 10/09
    Awaiting next update....

Anyone got an idea on the timescales with Halifax from now on? No credit issues, within affordability, 75% LTV (5% deposit, 20% equity loan).

    Thanks,

    Dan
I understand the valuation has now been instructed. One step further.
Anybody know how long the valuation takes to complete for Halifax and where this sits in the process? What can I expect next and when please?

    Thanks,

    Dan
I put my application in on 17/08 got my Valuation booked on 10/09 valuation came back fine think I’m just waiting on the offer now which has been 4 working days since so hoping to hear soon. MA hasn’t asked me for any other supporting documents.
  • Hi guys, me and my partner have our offer and waiting to exchanged. We are so excited... we wondered if Halifax would do any further checks between exchange/completion? Has anyone had any experience of them asking for any further documentation during this time or further credit checks? We are so excited and just wish December would hurry up!

It’s common for lenders to do another hard check before completion, especially if there is more than 30 days between offer and completion. Our first mortgage we had two more checks, our current one with NatWest they didn’t but we completed 2 weeks after offer. As you’ve got a few months till completion it’s very possible they will check you haven’t taken on extra/new credit, lenders often withdraw mortgage offers for this reason.

  • 20th of July - application submitted
    6th of August - valuation
17th of August - valuation assessed and approved

It's a waiting game since then. We were asked for few documents like return to work letter and original copies of bank statements. It took them about a week to assess those documents with the exception of my bank statement which was rejected ( they refused it because it was printed using self service machine in the branch) so I submitted a new one exactly 2 weeks ago and we are still waiting for those few pieces of paper to be assessed. I understand mortgage lenders are busy but 2 weeks to check like 3 pieces of paper?? Working day 44 and we are still waiting for the Bank to assess my bank statement. Scared to think how much longer it's going to take. Good luck everyone 🤞🤞🤞
