I'll join. I'm a wreck waiting for news as I'm self employed and very much expecting the worst! I'm working with a 12% deposit on a flat - mortgage will be 48% and Help to Buy equity loan will be 40% (hopefully).
Offer on flat accepted and reserved - 20/08/20
Broker process started - 21/08/20
AIP via broker - 04/09/20
Full application filed and received by Santander - 10/09/20
Broker has advised Santander are taking five to six working days to assess numbers at the moment, but I'm more pessimistic. Only thing so far is a soft affordability search on 04/09. I'm a self employed contractor working for one company, income has been steady ish for the last year apart from a short pandemic dip when I took the full SEISS grants. Fully back to work now. No debt. I'm fully expecting lots of questions on varying monthly income and grants plus an income jump between last two tax returns...Debt Free: 06/03/2020 Highest Debt: £37,5140 -

23rd working day and massive stress levels, but we're alive.0 -

Awaiting now for the next steps...
We're hoping we hear something today. We thought due to it being a new build and not fully constructed yet they'd do a desktop valuation but they turned up at the building site without an appointment, so on 11/09 the builders were sending over the relevant document. Fingers crossed we hear something soon!

Ok so FTB and feel like I'm going to be sick all the time with all this waiting and lack of updates!! I'm a bag of nerves!! Offer was accepted on a house 4 weeks ago, house needs updating, been unoccupied for over a year covered in smoke, gentleman smoked 40 a day all his life and neved opened a window buy the looks of it 🤦and it has a fair bit of condensation mould but New boiler, new electrics, new shower, solar panels owned to house, and large garden in an area we love. Can't have it all. The asking price does reflect the issues it has. Agreement in principle obtained same day as offer accepted, valuation booked for following Friday ( no idea if it was in person) valuation received by nationwide, no news on how it went though) but due to the issues the property has I am really anxious about it. MA has advised that the application is on the desk but they are short staffed due to be the pandemic. Hard search was done on the 11th September, we have contacted a solicitor and advised nationwide of them how ever we are holding off sending solicitors forms back until mortgage has actually been approved. Been looking for a house for awhile, never intended to try and buy one in a pandemic, but property in the area we want doesnt come up often, and when it does it is usually out of our price range. This house is £110,000 and the the mortgage company are asking for a £17,000 we have only have £18,500 so I am worried about everything. The more time goes on the more I want this house. A simple yes or no how long does that take!!0
