  • FTB - Halifax via Broker - 85% LTV - New Build
    Our timeline -
4/9 price agreed on New Build
    10/9 New Build documents signed
14/9 mortgage application submitted to Halifax
    14/9 hard searches carried out
    15/9 soft searches carried out
    ...
Hopefully we won't have to wait too long, chose Halifax due to their slightly quicker lead times. Already rejected by HSBC (90 LTV) but have upped the deposit so hopefully, that gets us through with Halifax!

Absolutely over the moon! I literally can't believe it. I've not been able to sleep since we applied for the mortgage, as I didn't think we would get one with it being HSBC, but our broker said it sailed through with no issues.
This is so fast! Did HSBC come back for any clarifications etc? I take it you are in a very good financial position with no credit cards etc?
We have been a week today since our application went in and not a peep yet.

Yeah that is rubbish, does your broker have a contact with the provider to put some pressure on?

    Awaiting next update....

Anyone got an idea on the timescales with Halifax from now on? No credit issues, within affordability, 75% LTV (5% deposit, 20% equity loan).

    Thanks,

    Dan
I understand the valuation has now been instructed. One step further.
  • Omg nationwide finally got back to the ma they have questions!! Who is this person my husband transfers half his paycheck too and how has he managed to save the deposit  it's been a struggle but half his wages gets transferred to family to save it for a deposit, and thats how the deposit has been saved. I don't understand, the valuation  was done almost 3 weeks ago now, they hard searched last Friday, and only now they have these questions. They have said current turn around is 10 working  days, they say it's been 7? Does this mean it's 10 days again from the silly questions or just 3 more arrhhhh why don't they just be clear so we can move forward
  • Just had an update from our MB.  Barclays have done initial assessment on our case and accepted and satisfied the documents sent to them. The valuation has also been approved.
Is this good news? I presume so??! I have no idea how any of this works and every time i get an email, my palms start sweating! haha!

FTB's, my partner and I both live with our parents with no big outgoings at the moment; so managed to save a lot. 2 credit cards each but pay off in full every month and no other commitments. 55k joint income, my partner has a perfect credit history and mine is nearly perfect. They didn't come back for any clarifications which I was very surprised with.

Anybody know how long the valuation takes to complete for Halifax and where this sits in the process? What can I expect next and when please?

    Thanks,
