Jumping on the back of this post - hope that’s okay!

I am a FTB and applied to Nationwide through a mortgage advisor/broker. I M applying solely in my name. Purchase price is £128500. Looking to borrow £93500. We are taking £25k from first home fund and Putting £10k deposit down from lifetime isa. Current timeline is:
    1) Offer accepted on 30th June.
    2) mortgage application went into nationwide 14th July (2 week gap was because we were initially going with Barclays but that fell through)
    3) application recieved 16th july
    4) valuation booked for 17th July and provided same day (scotland - home buyers report)
    5) application update 24th July stating below:
     Application update

We've received all requested documents and your clients mortgage application has now been passed for full assessment. If we need anything further we'll let you know.

    My question is?

    1) would they have declined before now if any major issue?

I can’t stop worrying that the house is going to fall through if we don’t complete on time as this is holding up the missives.

I can’t say for sure as not a mortgage broker but we had the same worry and the mortgage advisor told us if everything was right that was keyed for the aip and we had all paper work to back it up we would have no problems! Good luck

Thank you so much. Everything was keyed correctly with all evidence to match it and all 3 credit reports have no issues on them so fingers crossed!

Seventh Anniversary First Post Combo Breaker

My application with NatWest was submitted on the 9th June and it was finally passed for offer yesterday on 24th July and I will receive a written mortgage offer next week. A process which took 7 weeks!!

As a FTB it has been a nerve racking and frustrating experience due to the lack of proactive updates. For the past 2 weeks I was back and forth with my MB’s admin team and NatWest due to the incorrect documents being sent on two occasions! My advice is – don’t be afraid to ask for an update and if you can track your mortgage application online then even better. I was also contacting NatWest via online chat and they were able to give updates. It has helped me progress the application along otherwise I would still be waiting around for even longer

If you are still waiting then I hope you hear some good news very soon! And if you’ve received your offer then congratulations and I hope all goes well. But for me it won’t be real until I receive the keys!!

    Thats brilliant news!

We're still waiting, though underwriter asked for info on childcare costs which are now nil which was sent back immediately, so hopefully we will be hearing something this coming week as we applied a few days behind you.

Hopefully won’t be long now. We were asked for more information and another letter from our accountant and offer was issued 4 days later. We wasn’t even aware they had down valuation 🤦🏼‍♀️ Good luck 🤞🏻

Anyone else experienced never-ending system issues with HSBC? We started our mortgage application at the end of June, the house was was valued on the 3rd July, the application was fully submitted on the 8th July (delay due to system 'system errors'). Our application was then rejected on the 22nd July - we phoned up to ask why and turns out this was also due to a 'system error', and it got reinstated. We're now still waiting for a decision despite being told we should have got one by the end of the day on Friday.

Did you apply online or via an MA?
If your app went to underwriter, we've been told it's a 7-10 day turnaround, so it might be that it's in the queue to be reviewed. Ours went in via MA on the 3rd and still waiting. 😣

We applied online. It's just very frustrating as we were constantly told it was with the underwriters (we phoned many times over the weeks) but then when our application was rejected it was because it expired so I'm not sure it was with anyone. So we're not sure how long it has been with the underwriters - but when we phoned on Friday and directly spoke to the underwriters they said it would be sorted by the end of the day.

Looks like there are some long waits at the moment 😫
