  • We also applied on 22nd of June through the Halifax and they asked some documents on 17/07 . After that we didn’t hear anything and until today they didn’t make a valuation . I don’t know  what’s going on. Already 6 weeks gone . Anyone any idea please can you share it. Waiting time is killing day by day.

Got my DiP from Nationwide on the 21st July, they did a valuation the next day (I'm assuming drive-by). Fingers crossed!

Today marks 5 weeks since offer accepted and 4 weeks since our application went in with West Brom. Valuation booked for 31st July. Although the application is still not with underwriters. Its been a painful 4 weeks. Hoping it will go to underwriters this week coming.

Thanks for the info, Jade. Did you ring them to chase up and Nationwide told you that you will be having the decision by Tuesday? We're through a MB.

Jumping on the back of this post - hope that’s okay!

I am a FTB and applied to Nationwide through a mortgage advisor/broker. I M applying solely in my name. Purchase price is £128500. Looking to borrow £93500. We are taking £25k from first home fund and Putting £10k deposit down from lifetime isa. Current timeline is:
    1) Offer accepted on 30th June.
    2) mortgage application went into nationwide 14th July (2 week gap was because we were initially going with Barclays but that fell through)
    3) application recieved 16th july
    4) valuation booked for 17th July and provided same day (scotland - home buyers report)
    5) application update 24th July stating below:
     Application update

We've received all requested documents and your clients mortgage application has now been passed for full assessment. If we need anything further we'll let you know.

    My question is?

    1) would they have declined before now if any major issue?

I can’t stop worrying that the house is going to fall through if we don’t complete on time as this is holding up the missives.

Hi - we're going through a process with Santander and fretting about application.
    Agreement in principle 1st July.
Broker submitted application to Santander on 7th July.
We responded to underwriter queries on 17th July.
We were hopeful of the offer this week, but we have today (25 July) received yet more queries and a lower mortgage offer from what was initially agreed in principal.
We're furious and feel like Santander have changed the goalposts from their initial offer/agreement on 1st July. We are now at risk of losing our dream home and our broker will ask Santander for their rationale for dropping the mortgage offer by £50k.
Should we start looking at other lenders? The vendors are getting impatient with us...

Hi, yes my husband is self employed. We were both furloughed through out lockdown. They requested a letter of our account stating she didn’t think we would be affected going forward. We provided the last 3 months bank statements but no payslips!
