I have found out why I couldn’t see it. The MSE credit club with Experian doesn’t have all soft checks on it. Direct with Experian does. Just in case anyone else had same issue!burge1983 said:
Experian mate. Our show a soft check on day of the aip and then another soft check that is dated 10/07 which was day of the application but which didn't show up until Sunday on experian that is named "identity check - generic "28tsw said:
Yeah BOI on a broker exclusive. I’ve checked all 3 again just now and still no mark at all but submitted nearly a week ago. Which credit score provider did it appear on for you? It doesn’t make sense as broker said the AIP has a soft credit check but where is it!burge1983 said:
Am I right in remembering you're going with bank of Ireland? We submitted our on friday, and my report showed an identity check dated friday on Sunday. But no hard credit check yet. Our broker told us they're running t around 3 weeks from application to offer, so I'm assuming mines going be at the bottom of a big pile somewhere28tsw said:How quickly can you see credit checks? We submitted full application and agreement in principle last Tuesday and I’ve checked three different credit score providers and no sign of soft or hard check.0

This forum has been really helpful in the past few weeks of nail-biting wait and thought it would be helpful to share our experience so far using a broker in case it helps anyone waiting!
We have an existing house with mortgage and looking to purchase a new-build using our equity which gives us a LTV just under 70%.
Both employed on permanent contracts and have bonuses which Santander were willing to consider provided there was a multi-year track record evidenced through P60s. No credit issues (checked Experian and CheckMyFile).- 30th June: AIP with Santander (We were hedging our bets so had one with Natwest approved, but Halifax declined?!)
- 30th June: Full mortgage application, text from Santander to confirm.
- 2nd July: Asked for previous years P60s.
- 7th July: Text from Countrywide booking an in-person valuation for 10th July. No updates available from Broker or Santander until this point.
- 10th July: Valuation performed - valuer didn't turn up in person in the end but instead phoned to get information.
- 13th July: Text from Santander to confirm mortgage offer. Broker later sent through PDF.

After a system error and failed 1st attempt - directly - a few weeks ago, we submitted a new application with HSBC via a broker on Friday.hannah2283 said:My mortgage application with HSBC was formally submitted by the broker today. Now I need to wait patiently....
Be interesting to see your timescale. Ours took 10 days to get to a manual UW before getting thrown out and told about a system calculation error.
I hope you have a more straight forward case then ours! My partner is self-employed (worked throughout COVID) and I have a load of regular commission that they need to take into account for affordability.0

I’m not gonna lie, I tried so hard to put it out of my mind and be patient but it’s really been stressing me out. I thought it wasn’t normal that it was sat in a queue for 4 weeks but they kept telling me otherwise. Ah well, luckily my seller is patient (given she accepted my offer 4 months ago, she’d have to be!) and the BDM has instructed my valuation so hopefully not much longer to wait now and I can move on to the next steps. Hopefully they go smoothly!fiision2020 said:
Glad to hear that your application has made some progress. What a nightmare however having that 4 week delay because they had to upload to an older portal. My application is with the underwriting team for just over a week and I'm stressing out; I don't know if my heart will last another week let alone another 3.Jamaicanmelaff said:I have an update... HSBC said that "my application is with the underwriters and they will hopefully make their decision by Friday and instruct the valuation if all is OK." This is exactly the same update they gave last week, but apparently last week it was with the normal underwriting team and this week it is being checked by the senior underwriters because I'm self-employed, but all looks good on the docs so it's just waiting for approval. It turns out, however, that the long delay wasn't because my application was waiting in a 4-week queue for the underwriters as they claimed every time they were chased for an update, but because it wasn't actually in the queue at all - because I'm self-employed and my income is foreign, my application had to go in under their old legacy portal and documents were uploaded to that rather than their current portal, some error meant the additional documents never made it to the queue, despite the fact that my broker also emailed them. My broker is now contacting the BDM to escalate the case and get the valuation booked in alongside the underwriting process to try and speed things up.
Fingers crosses yours doesn’t take too long!0
