My current timeline with Natwest is below. I’m under a lot of pressure to move quickly so have pestered then a lot.
-Applied for AIP 23rd June which was instantly accepted.
-Applied online for full mortgage on 23rd June
-Various phone calls over the next 2 weeks asking me for more info (P60 from previous years, pay slips show bonus income etc.)
-Paid for valuation on 2nd July
-8th July the vendor still hadn’t heard about survey. Chased NatWest and they ended up giving me the number of the surveying company, the vendor called them and booked it in for the earliest date (20th July)
-In the meantime (6th July) the underwriter called me and said my mortgage has accepted pending valuation
Does anyone know how quickly they might go to formal offer after the valuation?
Another point on NatWest, I was tempted to change to a 5 year fix as opposed to the 2 I applied for. They won’t allow me to make any changes and would have to apply from scratch. They said this wouldn’t be the case if I went through a broker - strange!0 -
My Current timeline with BM solution for a Mortgage application is :
DIP Approved Instantly 1st July , Full application 2nd July , Valuation fee paid . Applied through a MA . Got update 7th July Mortgage approved subject to Valuation , which a date is yet to be received for the valuation ? Is anyone having a similar Issue. Advice needed ?0 -
I can't fault virgin money!! didn't need to chase at all!
I complete on friday - 17th July, 28 days its took from mortgage application to completion! and only 6 weeks from house offer to completion!
would recommend VM if you meet their criteria1 -
Valuation day today, it’s going to be a long week waiting for news...0

I have an update... HSBC said that "my application is with the underwriters and they will hopefully make their decision by Friday and instruct the valuation if all is OK." This is exactly the same update they gave last week, but apparently last week it was with the normal underwriting team and this week it is being checked by the senior underwriters because I'm self-employed, but all looks good on the docs so it's just waiting for approval. It turns out, however, that the long delay wasn't because my application was waiting in a 4-week queue for the underwriters as they claimed every time they were chased for an update, but because it wasn't actually in the queue at all - because I'm self-employed and my income is foreign, my application had to go in under their old legacy portal and documents were uploaded to that rather than their current portal, some error meant the additional documents never made it to the queue, despite the fact that my broker also emailed them. My broker is now contacting the BDM to escalate the case and get the valuation booked in alongside the underwriting process to try and speed things up.1

Does anyone know what the process is once it’s gone in? Mine has had valuation already and I have had hard searches on credit file (submitted application 6 July) It’s now in queue for underwriter, no other documents have been requested. Is it a good sign that valuation has been done before underwriting or is that normal?0

Hello everyone. Thought I'd join this thread as am going bonkers waiting for my offer to come through! I feel everyone's pain, this really is the worst experience. Our timeline as below- we've applied to NatWest using L&C.
-Application in 22nd May
-Valuation done 5th June
-More documents requested 12th June (my partner is self-employed)
-25th June, application lapsed due to L&C not completing the right paperwork- fuming
-6th July application resubmitted after 2 weeks of wrangling with L&C
I've been chasing a lot and our latest is that the underwriter was looking at our case for 2 days, end of last week, then seemingly stopped and hasn't looked at all the documents. Now just waiting and don't know what the delay is.
For those with NatWest I'd highly recommend their chat app Ask Cora for getting updates- it takes 5 minutes and for me has meant that I can nag them every day this week without feeling quite so guilty (compared to actually speaking to someone) about doing so!0 -
