Then said as I'd applied through a broker that's *probably* why they couldn't find it and to contact our MB directly for an update... 😣 So calling them just ramped up my paranoia rather than putting my mind at rest like the intended purpose of making the call 🤦‍♀️
Now the wait continues to get an update from our broker...

When I called them last week they said similar and just referred me back to my broker too, but she called and they told her that they were assessing my application again this week and they did another hard check on my credit file on Wednesday so at least they definitely are.

ive been hearing a lot of people getting mortgage offers - which is amazing!!!!
What I haven't heard as much is people getting rejected, the reasons why (if given) and what they did next - anyone want to share? 

This forum has helped my anxiety a lot reading similar experiences of waiting and providing timelines 😀

We found out our mortgage was declined today by Santander.

we’re beyond gutted but learnt a lot from going through this process over the last few weeks. Back to renting for the next couple of years

Hi, new to the forum and just wanted to give a scale of my timeline for a Halifax mortgage -
Mon 6th July 2020 - rang halifax direct and got an agreement in principle there and then - mortgage advisor gave us an hour to read through and make sure we were happy with everything, all OK.
He rang back as he said he would an hour later and we did a full application, and paid for valuation.
Wednesday 8th July 2020 - uploaded payslips as requested.
Friday 10th july 2020 - this morning I uploaded the last document they requested and about 10 mins later we had an email - Thanks for choosing us to help you with your mortgage. We are pleased to tell you that your application has been approved.Your Mortgage Offer has been posted to you and your solicitor. You will get this in the next few days.Please read the documents to make sure they meet your needs. You should keep them for your own records.
Overall very impressed with how quick and professional halifax have been.
I just want to add that I first approached L and C and was messed around so decided to go direct, I'm glad I did.

Thank you! Haha I know, I feel like I’ve been stuck on Groundhog Day for the last 5 weeks. They still hadn’t decided today whether they’ll need more documents or they’re happy to proceed to valuation so nothing now until Monday I expect but I wasn’t too hopeful anyway. My thinking now is just that surely it can’t take much longer so it’s all good. I hope you have a lovely weekend now you’re able to stop worrying so much.

I'm curious, did you go through a broker and if so, how often do you contact them for an update?
