Lender: HSBC
23/05 - First DIP obtained
26/06 - Offer on house accepted / Full application submitted (had issues with first application due to fatal error, had to submit a second application)
29/06 - Email with link to upload documents received, uploaded: 1 month's payslip, 2 x P60 for bonus evidence and proof of pension contribution
30/06 - Application forwarded to Underwriting team for review
06/07 - Underwriter review
07/07 - Underwriter queries and received text "Offer Subject to Valuation"; Paid booking fees online.
I was not expecting the call today nor the offer text! Thank goodness, the wait is almost over! Not too concerned about the property valuation as we are borrowing 80% LTV and house prices are way above what we are buying it for, even based on online valuation.
Cannot believe we got an offer! Good luck everyone!Keep calling them for an update (currently in the queue calling about valuation lol - see I never stop until I get what I need lol)
Second the keep calling advice. Found out that our valuation should have been arranged two weeks ago and not really got to the bottom of why it wasn’t.Some persistent gentle (and sympathetic in the circumstances) pushing and it was arranged for yesterday (same day that they spoke to the EA). So clearly, pushing makes a difference?!Next stress- will it be valued at what we offered! I swear I won’t stop stressing until we have the keys!0 -

Update: just got confirmation from our Mortgage Advisor that our Halifax Mortgage application has been approved. Overall timescale from application to offer was 3 weeks exactly. Definitely felt like much, much longer during that time. But, in the grand scheme of things, I guess it's been pretty quick!
Good luck to everyone else nervously waiting...0 -
HSBC application update:
23/05 - DIP obtained
26/06 - Full application submitted directly (had issues with first application due to a fatal error, so had to resubmit a new application on the same day. This also generated a new DIP)
26/06 - Find out today (08/07) that Valuation was carried out 'online' on the same day we submitted our application but somehow was not linked to our application. Possibly due to first one had fatal error. This has been fixed today (08/07).
29/06 - Documentation uploaded: Latest payslip, P60 and proof of pension contributions.
30/06 - Application forwarded to Underwriting team for assessment
06/07 - Underwriting
07/07 - Underwriter called regarding a couple of queries followed by text 'Mortgage application has been approved subject to Valuation'!
08/07 - called to check valuation, confirmed valuation was carried out on 26/06 and OK. Final Offer Letter received!!!
Good luck to everyone still waiting for their offers!
HSBC process was painful at times but chasing up daily certainly helped progress our application quicker!
We applied directly as well, so it can be done but do be careful when inputting details on the application online. We knew what product we wanted, may not necessarily work for FTB so do seek advise. Also check credit files, make sure that everything you declare on the form matches up or approximation.
Also, we almost missed key information under Financial Details section on the form. We declared our mortgage payments (first property), credit card details, travel expenses and any other expenses such as Service Charges/Ground Rent.
No information about our utilities and other expenses had to be entered as the can get this information from Credit files and Bank statements (via Open Banking).
End to end process took 13 days including weekends from application to offer!
Once you've submitted a full application including documentations uploaded, next point of contact number is 0345 603 0171!
We have been able to get through quickly calling between 10:30am and 11:30am via mobile phone. Not sure it makes a difference but wait time was definitely less if calling other times in the day.
Hope above helps HSBC applicants :-)
Now onto conveyancing... hopefully, our solicitor will be just as speedy!

I am waiting on Skipton BS and I am normally a very patient person but for this - I have beeen sooo anxious because this my first (dream) home that I'm starting with my little family
DIP received and application submitted on 30/06/20
Valuation instructed on 01/07/20
Valuation expected on 09/07/20 which is tomorrow EEEK
I tracked the above on the tracker on their website and my broker said it's currently with an underwriter being assessed which I don't think is true because Skipton carry out valuations before underwriting and the valuation is still to be done (from what I have heard) anyway I'm not really bothered about that as long as it we get our mortgage offer! Anyway I check Skipton's turnaround times daily (I know I have issues!) haha but all I can see it their offer times being extended - it's on 8 days at the moment - so I'm guessing another 2 weeeeks!I'm going to have no hair by the end of this!Anyone else had experience with Skipton and tired of this waiting game?0 -
