    Barclays time line
    2/7 full application.
    4/7 valuation instructed with eSurv.
6/7 mortgage declaration resent in pdf format.
7/7 email to confirm all documents received and satisfactory.

Anyone have any idea on Barclays timeline or the Timeline for eSurv? Not sure if it’s a desktop valuation or a physical valuation, I live in Scotland.

  • Our latest update:
    Lender: HSBC

    23/05 - First DIP obtained
26/06 - Offer on house accepted / Full application submitted (had issues with first application due to fatal error, had to submit a second application)
29/06 - Email with link to upload documents received, uploaded: 1 month's payslip, 2 x P60 for bonus evidence and proof of pension contribution
30/06 - Application forwarded to Underwriting team for review
    06/07 - Underwriter review
07/07 - Underwriter queries and received text "Offer Subject to Valuation"; Paid booking fees online.

I was not expecting the call today nor the offer text! Thank goodness, the wait is almost over! Not too concerned about the property valuation as we are borrowing 80% LTV and house prices are way above what we are buying it for, even based on online valuation.

Cannot believe we got an offer! Good luck everyone!
Yaaaaay! Congrats @heston2014 that's fab news - so glad the excruciating wait is over for you! Is there any reason you can't believe you got the offer/weren't successful before being 3rd time lucky?

Our full app was also submitted on the 26th so hopefully we'll hear something soon 😩
In the last 3 years, we tried to get a Let to Buy mortgage on our current property to release equity and buy a second home.
Affordability was not the issue, it was valuation stage that we had failed on the two previous attempts.
This time around, we made sure we did our research properly ourselves (first two we used a broker), but this time we decided to go direct.  Second home mortgage lenders are limited based on the LTV, so our only option was HSBC.  So we had an expectation that we may not be successful given that HSBC are renowned to be very strict lenders.
We knew we had dotted all our i's and crossed all the t's before we submitted an application, but as we've been burnt before, we went in with the expectation that if it's meant to be, it's mean to be and this will be the last attempt for us.

Keep calling them for an update, we did almost everyday as our worry is that the application will not move along unless we called to prompt for an update.  Providing that you have uploaded all the documentation after submitting your application, just keep prodding for updates.  I think that helped progressed our application quicker.
They are reviewing applications within 7 days and should progress to offer subject to valuation within 10 days (unless it's a complex case which could be longer).  Good luck! :)
Thanks @heston2014 I called our case handler at our MB's this morning as we were told there'd be a post-valuation update early this week, he said he'd heard from HSBC yesterday and they're issuing a Mortgage Offer! Still don't think we'll believe it or relax until we see it, as knowing my luck he'll say "sorry I got you mixed up with another client" 🙈 but it's certainly a relief and we'll receive the confirmation soon.

I am waiting on Skipton BS and I am normally a very patient person but for this - I have beeen sooo anxious because this my first (dream) home that I'm starting with my little family
DIP received and application submitted on 30/06/20
    Valuation instructed on 01/07/20
Valuation expected on 09/07/20 which is tomorrow EEEK

I tracked the above on the tracker on their website and my broker said it's currently with an underwriter being assessed which I don't think is true because Skipton carry out valuations before underwriting and the valuation is still to be done (from what I have heard) anyway I'm not really bothered about that as long as it we get our mortgage offer! Anyway I check Skipton's turnaround times daily (I know I have issues!) haha but all I can see it their offer times being extended - it's on 8 days at the moment - so I'm guessing another 2 weeeeks!
I'm going to have no hair by the end of this!
Anyone else had experience with Skipton and tired of this waiting game?

Currently waiting an offer with skipton.
Online tracker hasn't updated in days, it went to the underwriters before valuation.
I have been phoning daily, I have sorted alot out over the phone. My broker is still saying they havnt processed my valuation but I spoke to skipton on Monday and they have. Looks like they are slow to update anything or anyone.
I will be ringing tomorrow for more updates, just on the off chance I can find out something instead of waiting for letters/emails

My broker emailed saying the valuation hasn't happened yet - on the phone to Skipton and they've said a desktop valuation was done yesterday so I don't think they've had time to provide the update to my broker
I guess I'm going to have to keep calling them for updates.

when did you submit your application?
