Your children clearly have a good understanding already - no doubt thanks to your excellent parenting - that you don't get something for nothing in this world (unless it's by betting successfully).
Try explaining to them that the English legal system will allow you to keep a roof over your heads if you should ever find yourself unable to honour one of your own contracts.
Which is just as well, when the bailiffs come knocking on doors to remove furniture from the homes of people who have been unable to keep up their line rental payments to the networks.
Just how did you explain to them the basis upon which The Mobile Outlet would be able to give them free 'phones and refund their line rental in full?
Do you believe in The Tooth Fairy?
Might be a little naive here, but we thought that the likes of TMO received rebates from the networks to pay cashback to people who bothered to claim correctly.
This is how it seemed to work with previous contracts with e2save without problem.
How is it that e2save manage to honour contracts, but you think that TMO is in tooth fairy land?0 -

I cannot comment on e2save as I never dealt with them, but in the case of TMO, they offered very attractive contracts in that they gave free phones and line rental.
Other companies offer half price rental or full free rental for half the contract, that clearly reduces their outlay and increases their profit.
I won't say it again, but the directors of TMO claim both that they were incorrectly told by a network that only four in ten would claim successfully (but didn't seem to change their model at all when it became clear to everyone else more than four were) and also that only four in ten claimed successfully; a direct contradiction.Toyota - 'Always a better way', avoid buying Toyota.0 -

You seem to be misunderstanding something very simple here. For some reason you seem to think that I am complaining about TMO or the circumstances of losing money through them, despite never doing so and denying that I would. I am complaining about the unutterable, vulgar smugness of those who use this situation either to say, "I gambled and won, woo!, look TMO paid me within x days each time, I love my little phone, you other schmucks were suckered and tough!" or those who use it to say, "well, more fool all of you, if only you'd listened to me, all this just shows you how smart I am!"
I honestly don't know what good you think you are contributing to the world. Those who have lost money need to accept it and move on. They aren't obliged to heave your ego up on their shoulders as well.0 -

E2save provided free Nokia phone & 12 months free line rental (3 network) via cashback in the same way that TMO should have done.
Where is the difference?
Did TMO not correctly claim their rebates from the networks?
Did the directors of TMO remove more money from their business than it was earning?0 -
The difference was quite plain for anyone who bothered researching to see. The Mobile Outlet ALWAYS were small fry and bad payers with abysmal t&c. E2Save were huge and the opposite (up until last summer). That's why I put 95% of my 30 odd cashback orders with them and not this bunch of "crooks". If I avoided them for that specific reason two years ago (and ever since despite following these threads) those who can't see the difference are extremely naive and should not be doing cashbacks with any dealer.0

Hi guys,
I think it's time to stop all this bickering amongst ourselves don't you agree? The inevitable (administration of TMO) has happened which is no surprise here to anybody. Everyone who was not able to claim all or part of their money back from TMO like myself are all victims of this scam and we should be here to support one another to get over this. I guess there is not much that we can do now apart from moving on with life so why waste breath arguing over something meaningless and irrelevant now??
Just take it as a lesson learnt and never get yourself into one of these TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE BARGAINS  ever again. I'll certainly be keeping away from them. Just think, at least the amounts that most of us cannot recover is not too drastic for people not being able to earn it back. We're not exactly talking about losing 10 grand or something right! I know every little penny helps cos I am not a rich guy either. I still have a hefty mortgage to pay off but the truth is the truth and we must accept it whether we like it or not cos what more can we do??Sulk Sulk Sulk??? Is it really worth it when there are more important things in life waiting for us to do or care about.
I do feel sorry for everybody who was ripped off by TMO and even I get angry with those BXXXXXDS  but sometimes we have to learn the hard way. Best wishes to everyone!!

Do you quote me because you are referring to me? That would not seem to be in the spirit of conciliation. Thanks for the thought.0

Guys - is anyone else having posts deleted from this thread?? I had one deleted from around 4:20 a.m. which was far from offensive, in fact it had been thanked several times.

Hi,
I've been thinking if it's still worth pursuing my money through court. I've lodge a case through Sheriff Court (I'm in Scotland, basically it works about the same as Money Claim Online) and it has just past the date that were given to TMO to respond/defend the claim.
Now that they have went into administration, and I have not actually got the court to send a decree telling them to pay me, could i still continue this case and ask the court to send it anyway, because there might not be anyone to receive that decree.
Also, if the court had the decree sent, obviously TMO would be given a time period to pay up, does that mean I would then have to wait for a period of time before getting the court to force judgement?
Finally, does anyone know how would TMO's asset be distributed hierarchily? Would going through the court and getting judgement put me at a better position to get my claim?
I would really appreciate if someone is able to advise me on this / share their thoughts. Thanks.0 -
Looked through a couple of the other cashback threads and found that on the back of your t-mobile bill its says you can downgrade your tariff after you have been with them 6 months, this may be of use to a few people. I'm not too worried about breaking the t&c's of the cashback by moving to a lower tariff, TMO sure as hell ain't either!!!
Can anyone one find in TMO or T-Mobile t&cs' where it states that you can't change to a lower price plan, I can't find anything??
