BCG: That doesn't seem to confirm it to me! It says they are 'not sure of the status'!?

Although I'd say it's pretty d*mn obvious - it's been a few months coming! Especially when they deserted their offices!

My deal was through PBD - and the networks only really started helping customers a week or so after the fall out. Voda told me no twice before finally halving my line rental. So i'd say for people to wait til next week before bombarding their network with calls.
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...
  • Hi,

Sorry have not been around for a while, problems with my comp... Anyway...

Fristly, let me appologise if this has already been covered, but there are too many pages to trawl through and check.

I spoke to the Bradford Bailiffs a few weeks ago and they informed me that they new of ALL of TMOs trading address'.

Called the bailiffs again today and they told me that TMO have gone into liquidation a couple of weeks ago, and that there is no chance off getting any money from them.

So whoever is thinking of STARTING court action, don't bother...

For those who have had the bailiffs get the money from TMO before they went bust, they will contact you and let you know on the state of play.:T  :T

For those who are at the stage of sending the bailiffs, don't, you will be wasting more of your money.

For those who have started MCOL and not reached the bailiffs stage then MCOL would be contacting them.

You can call the Bradford Bailiffs for more info at this number: 01274 843512.

Me too but surely we're in the queue at least with the administrators.

Damn, they owed me £450 I think at last count

    Coolio,

You are entitled to be very angry indeed with the courts system.

Had they not seriously screwed up your MCOL claim and delayed it for months, you’d have got your money out of The Mobile Outlet long before it collapsed.

This is something you may wish to pursue (if you’re not heartily sick of the whole thing - and I wouldn’t blame you if you are).

They are half right, TMO went into administration exactly one week ago, not liquidation; however you probably still have either Bob or No of getting your money back, Bob being out of town.

Still, no-one is at fault (apparently).

Just spoke to t-mobile and they offered to take off the web-n-walk and another £5, wow!! I'm 8 months into my contract, would have thought they'd let me drop to a lower contract.
  • so there is still a chance of getting your money back via balliffs by sending them to an alternate address.

find all this very confusing as people keep posting up contradicting stories, no offence to anyone just makes it very hard to decide what is the next step to make

    No.

Don't waste any money on bailiffs.

You have to accept the situation now, and concentrate on trying to reduce your monthly outgoings by trying to lower your tariff.

But give up on chasing tmo. TIme to move on from them.

The demonstrably false suggestion that those who have lost money here participated in a "bet" is to level an accusation against them that the risk was transparent and part of the deal, and that anyone who complains is equivalent to someone shouting foul at a bookie because his horse hobbled home last.

When I checked this thread and its predecessor in May/June last year, when I was looking for a new contract, it was full of people saying that they'd got their cashback from TMO no problem, that they'd had friendly, helpful conversations with TMO people on the phone and been sent extra copies of the terms and conditions after requesting it by e-mail. I accessed the deal that suited me from OneCompare, which Martin has consistently trumpeted as good people (and they are), and OneCompare, at that time, still had a page describing how cashback worked and so on. The deals have been approved in the business pages of the serious papers and there are plenty of people who can testify to these cashback schemes working. But apparently we should have had the foresight to ignore all this and listen to a few Cassandras on this thread who could see it all tumbling down.

People come to this site looking for cheap deals and freebies. Was getting paid to buy meat pies 'too good to be true'? Surely it should have been.

I accept full responsibility for my own mistakes and don't intend to pursue any action on this matter. It may very well be the case that events have borne out your predictions. But at a time when people have lost hundred of pounds, coming on here and saying, "Well, I saw all this happening years ago, if only you'd listened to me" -- well, it is unseemly and unhelpful and -- some would say worse.

Ditto, my thoughts entirley - I took 2 contracts and honoured the terms & conditions of both.
My two contracts were taken out for my 14 & 15 year old children who paid for their line rental from paper round money.
We never thought we were taking out a "bet".
Try explaining to teenagers that they can't have their cash-backs as the English legal system allows companies (and individuals) to avoid honouring their side of a contarct.

Not quite clear here - TMO are in Administration? (not yet liquidation)
Having 2 CCJs against them (fortunately no money wasted on bailiffs) do I need to get in touch with the administators now?
I now it is unlikely that the directors have left any assets or money in the company, but if there are any, it might be worth asking for a share!

Bear in mind that the first people the Administrators will now pay from whatever assets the company may have left will be themselves. Handsomely.

There's nothing a Receiver likes more than a good insolvency. :money:

Particularly if, as is alleged, the company is owed a large sum of money.
