Do the bailiffs also visit the directors/shareholders to recover debts?

Not in the case of warrants issued against firms.

ive spoke to consumer concern and even trading standards phoned me advising to go through small claims court (ill just do it for sake of it)

    waste of time really .................

And bear in mind not just time is involved - you pay up front for the court to get invoved.
  • Was in meetings today with a big mobile phone distributor, he told me that all the cashback companies had gone under, including the mobile outlet. he also said that there was others who did the same business with cashback.

thats bad news. alot of people will be left without cashback

When the MCOL claim has been processed against TMO, is it possible to issue the warrant against the directors/shareholders?

We have taken out 2 contracts with cashback in late Sept/early Oct 2007 with Phones4U on 3 network. Do you think that Phones4U have gone under?
Any comments welcome ref these contracts. The first cashback claims are due in July 2008

Well their local shop was still open today on the high street :)

Carphonewarehouse (and on the same group e2save/osps) also do cashbacks and they don't seem to be failing any time soon.

Everyone is saying everyone else is shutting down these days, and while that's true for a lot of small companies, the big ones will probably stay open. It wouldn't surprise me if they had played an hand on the smaller ones demise too... well they're certainly taking advantage of it now, they can offer smaller cashbacks, no need to price match so they can claw more of those sweet commissions... Also the market is now becoming tightly regulated so cutting any opportunity for small companies.

ps - Was on the phone to Carphonewarehouse O2 retentions and the guy was saying OneStopPhoneShop was also closing, so I had to ask if that meant CPW was closing soon too as they were part of the same group :)
  • What utter nonsense! What on earth has either Phones4u OR cpw got to do with the price of bread?? One of the reasons the deals aren't as good is because of all the disgruntled people who got their fingers burned through extremely poor choices of dealers and not having a clue who or what they were dealing with who are now on a crusade to ban ALL cashbacks for everyone - including those of us who do. As for ALL companies going bust on the soundbite of an idiot and the usual Chinese whispers which spread as a result - it's absolutely laughable!

Do I just write a letter? I am unable to request online, as they originally entered a defence and thus the case was forwarded to my local county court.

    No. You need form N225

But do you want to spend any more time/money on this until the water becomes clearer?
