I've done a complaint through their e-ail system before and got a very good response...

I emailed them requesting a downgrade due to the failure of the Mobile Outlet. They did response with a lengthy explanation, stating that they don't have any responsibility to the cashback and refused to change my price plan.

Have you got your plan changed?

I suspect the answer is "no" - otherwise people would (presumably) have responded.

No but I have had a nice reply (quick too) asking for all sorts of details about the cashback deal I was expecting, what I've had, what comms I've used, have I stuck to the T&C's for cashback.

I also copied into that, the text of the letter that I guess I will receive eventually from TMO.

Don't know what they will say, but I'm hoping for a bit of leniency - Orange were far better (wish I could say same about their Network coverage!) saving me £15pcm

This guy also threw in that there is NOTHING in the T&C's that says they will allow a change of tariff, but they do so as a goodwill gesture after 11 months. I'd love to hear the legal standpoint of what is on the back of every damned bill I get that says 6 months!!!!!

I firmly disbelieve the recycled paper BS excuse  - the FAQ's are only on the back of sheet1, and there is no way in hell that T-Mobile load their printers in the exact right order to have old FAQ's falling perfectly only on sheet 1, they are clearly and obviously printed on demand on a full duplex printer.

Is it something about the Mobile Phone industry where lies and deceipt trip off the tongue so readily.

Just spoke to T-Mobile and they were most unhelpful.

They won't reduce either of my price plans until 11 months (big deal!!), but did offer me £5 discounrt per month, which I took on one, and will take on the other once the 6 months has passed.

What annoys me is the reverse of all my bill say I CAN downgrade after 6 months but she went away and said the system just wouldn't allow it, not even her manager could override it.

I will now try Orange for my 3rd TMO contract to see how sympathetic they will be.

Edit - Orange much better - initially was only offering reduce 1 level to £35 pcm, but when I told story, offered to go lower to £25 so at least I can mitigate £15 x 6 =£90 less cost.

Sent complaint to T-Mobile as don't think they very helpful.

NB for other people with T-Mobile, you could ring them up and get negotiate the £5 discount as it won't alter your price plan so won't invalidate your Cashback T&C's in case TMO do come back to life with money to pay out (oh look there's a flying pig outside my window)

I tried to negotiate the £5 discount, but was told that it's not for my contract, which took from the mobile outlet. Mine is £35 per month.

Anybody has the T-Mobile's terms and conditions? Does it say the change only can be made after 11 months?

It says you can change upwards at any time, but can only go down after 11 months.
  • I think it will say nothing, in other words, you signed up for 12 months at x price, that is your contract.

  • Just for info, Both my wife and I went to the offices in Bradford on Monday and was told that nobody was in the office today, (another couple were there as well). We returned on Thursday and was told that nobody had been in all week. I am definitively starting to feel the worst about getting any money back. This is the last time I will be taking out cash back offers after having my fingers now burnt twice!!! - not happy.

I too went to the office on Thursday and was told that no one had been in all week.

This probably means that the staff have either been sacked (made redudant) or been told not to come in for the foreseeable.

I think that there is almost no possibility of me getting back any of the cash back owed. If TMO is owed money from another firm that has gone under we really have no chance.

If they are not at the office, then they can't sign for mail. or receive communications from the courts, bailiffs etc..I think it is unlikely that any staff have been sacked, as in my humble opinion, they are VERY efficient in not paying cashback payments.....The chance of getting a payment from TMO recently has been as likely as seeing rocky-horse-sh*te any way, so nothing has changed there either....
