The animal we are dealing with here is "contractually obliged" to pay out the cashbacks.
And gets ordered by the court to pay out via ccjs.
But takes no notice.
That code of practice is small beer to TMO in the ignoring of obligations scene.
Yep. I agree. But it gives you more leverage with your network provider to reduce your contract (or similar) because the onus is on them, and I believe that if they don't help then you can take it up with OFCOM.
Of course, I advise talking to someone at your local Trading Standards (if it isn't too much of a trip. I live near the middle of town, so it's not a problem) and ask them what they think. The guy I spoke to was really helpful0 -
Can anyone tell me if I need to wait the full number of days given in the LBA before commencing down the MCOL route please? I guess they're not going to respond to my LBA so wanted to get started sooner rather than later - or would this be viewed badly by the courts?
Apologies if this is a stupid question0 -
Just a quick update,
MCOL for 2nd cashback has now moved onto the warrant stage which has now been sent to the bailiff (spelling !!) yesterday , and as my LBA for the remaining cashback (3,4,and 5 as I have now sent all these into them dead on time. 3rd I have an email acceptance, 4 has been signed for 11 days after bill was issued, 5 i'm still waiting for the signature confirmation on royal mail but only sent on Tuesday) stated 10 days, I will be raising that MCOL tomorrow, wasn't sure if I should wait and see if i get my money from the other MCOL first as reading the last couple of pages of this thread has made me think I may not get anything out of them by going down this the MCOL path ! A trip to Bradford may still be a possibility, I know its a long way but for the sake of 4 lots of £84 its worth it, plus the MCOL and the Warrant issue too ! :mad:0 -

Has anyone called them lately? I just spoke to someone and it sounds like their voices are on a scrambler, very bizarre.0

The most bizarre thing is the blokes (well I think its a he) voice during the "queuing" process, he sounds like Alvin from Alvin and the chipmunks !!!
Also if you ring their sales line you get through in a nano second , but if you ring the customer service line it take 10 minutes !!! When you read their vision for mobile Outlet it makes that point even funnier0 -
Which number did you call?? I called the 08714273500 number yesterday, the bloke then gave me 01274 718568, it was engaged for ages then later it just kept ringing. I tried again at 5.20 a bloke with a very strong asian accent spoke. I just asked him about their website & when the deals such as 12 months free would be coming back. He said 1-2 weeks, but maybe he meant that they where planning to go bust in 1-2 weeks, who knows what their game is.0

Just a quick up-date on the CCJ situation (I'm guessing that these are probably MSE'ers & mine should be added before end of the month courtesy of MCOL):

The "No" at the end of each entry is the concern.
This list is not a list of all ccjs against them, but all ccjs which remain unpaid.
The recent ones don't mean much - defendants get a month from judgement to pay off the ccj, and if they do, then it is not entered onto the Register of CCJs.
But they have just ignored the others, and to date it is clear the claimants have not managed to get paid.
Also notice all the Northampton ones - these will probably be undefended (or ignored) summonses issued via MCOL which they have seemingly done nothing at all about.
At the moment it shows a lot of court fees paid out by claimants who still are waiting to be paid their money.0 -
My claim issued on 10 Jan 2008 for £144+£25 isn't inlcuded on the list above, nor is a claim they defended in June. Both remain unpaid although a warrant has been issued for the first (£72+£30+£35)!0
