Well they found a new way to keep cool! They have both spent the day under the sofa. Every time my foot goes on the floor it gets mauled by disembodied claws. It's all rather surreal.

    I've been Money Tipped!
My cats are just laying around but they are eating ok.

The dog hates it. He is black with thick long fur. He keeps moving round trying to find a cool spot but as my house is registering 27 degrees in the coolest room he is not having much joy!

I have been walking him at 6am and 10pm when it is cooler and he has been ok although panting a lot when we get home.

Last night he wouldn't settle in his crate as I think it was too hot. I didn't want to leave him downstairs on his own in case he chewed a wire or something so I slept downstairs with him. Hardly got any sleep as he was so restless and then wanted to go in the garden.

So with barely any sleep and having got up before 6am for over a week I am absolutely shattered.

  • 2 of my cats are fine..if a bit too warm, alot of lying on their backs..feet in the air like a Xmas turkey going on.

My big fat cat is suffering, so much so that I had to call the vet for advice..he is breathing rapidly and almost panting...paws ina bowl of cold water and lying in the empty bathtub seem to have helped him..but I have to keep a close watch
Its all mind over matter. I don't mind and you don't matter:rotfl:

My boy is off his food a bit but drinking OK. He's happy sleeping most of the day. Luckily my house doesn't get direct "south facing" sun so its cool inside.

The wild birds are drinking and bathing a lot more. Fun to watch.

My kitty swings from baking in the conservatory (not today however), to lying under the bed looking half dead, to slowly sticking her head outside for a bit of air. Cats cope better, I feel sorry for dogs at the moment.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

My dog is doing quite well, he has been sat in his paddling pool today which means he is also smothered in mud and he has been enjoying some gravy ice cubes.

Gravy ice cubes. Never heard of that. What a good idea!

He's not doing too badly but his walks are suffering. He won't swim and he won't stop running everywhere! I take his travel water bottle but as he's all black he is really hot to touch. I daren't take him too far.

My EBT loves the sun. He hates it when I put suncream on him though!

I put the parasol over the garden swing and he lays on there to cool off.

I also bought him a paddling pool to splash about in and I give him ice cubes which he loves to chew on! :)
