Hi all,
been ages since I updated this thread. Well ive started to have hot flushes. They come on so quickly!
Ive got a blood test form at home (I'm away from home at the moment) which I will be taking to the hospital when i'm back home.
Checking:
Thyroid levels
Cholesterol
Kidney function
B12 levels
On top of that my hormone levels to check to see if ive gone through the change. The doc is not hopeful anything will show up as my last period was within the last 12 months (7 months to be exact). This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I've started HRT, my last period was 8 months ago. My fsh levels were 21 last year - normal to 60 last week. Normal is 30 max, so I'm well along. That seems a big swing in slightly under a year.
I will update about the HRT0 -
Zits.
Anyone else getting zits.
Huge, red, custard loaded boils? And blackheads like babies' arms.
Up in my hairline and around my T-zone. And eyebrows. And cheeks.
The weird and unpredictable periods where it isn't possible to predict when they're coming or whether it's going to be a Lites day or a Super Plus day.
In my bag, I now carry a range of tampons, wet toilet paper packets, plastic nappy sacks and tissues as well as all the other bits and bobs.
My periods used to be heralded by constipation with relief coming with the onset of bleeding. Now my 'habit' is all over the place with one period leaving me too scared to fart.
My GP prescribed mebeverine. A drug used to help IBS sufferers.
I'm spending an increasing amount of time locked in various toilet cubicles.
Are you telling me there's more to come? Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

OMG that post is so funny.
Well i've started this malarki it seems.
Would someone throw me into the sea..!!!! Getting a lot of 'heatwaves' as I call them. Have lost my brain several times. On occasions want to push people over as so annoyed. ..(for no real reason). Have aching joints in my ankles and hips at times. Can't remember much. Go off on random rants about things then the next day think to myself Jesus you lunatic.
Periods.....now this is odd. I work on a female ward....so lots of other female hormones for mine to 'click' into...however don't have periods for around 3 months at a time....unless i'm working with one person in particular....
I am actually on fire whilst i'm writing this. I am annoying others at work as keep putting all the fans on, and haven't bought any sweaters for winter.
I ended up here by punching in menopause, but had thought this would be on the health boards......guess this means I could be in for more rage and total breakdown of communication with friends and family.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
I'm back again & thought I'd reveal a bit more - my sweats seem to come & go. I don't have the itching down there but I've started to have a sort of heat rash everywhere
Got the beard & remove it weekly - cheeks burn with shame. I'm on Arimidex & have previously been on Tamoxifen, I'll be on that until July 2014. For years I longed to gain weight, but I never wanted the pot belly! I'm still a raging lunatic. I cannot make up my mind when in a shop & I know that they think I'm shop lifting sometimes. In fact I actually had quite a few security guards & shop assistants watching me a few weeks ago, I just love chemists! I'm always returning clothes .... as I change my mind. I had hardly any problems with my periods & often thought that people lied about pain ... That'll teach me.

I am 47 have had irregular periods for about 4 years. Now the longer the gap the heavier they are. Not ideal as changing pad/tampon hourly! My skin itches all over. And the facial hair is growing quicker than DS 17! I pluck the chin hair however any advice on the bum fluff beard, currently blond with the odd dark hair!0

Hi. I'm 52. Still having regular periods although they are heavier than i used to have. Skin has always been dry but is now dryer. No hot flushes. I do wake in the night with absolute fearful thoughts and angst that i cant control objectively. Just have to lie there until it passes and i feel exhausted. Could this be the menopause?
I wont ever be going to the doctor for blood tests btw.
Oh yes...itchy skin, especially on my back.0 -
OMG Gingernutty...it sounds horrendous.0

Hey rita rabbit.....i tried the caffeine shampoo but to no avail. I lost at least 50% of my hair when my mum died ( even though expected)
Eventually i tried the horse mane and tail shampoo and my hair has returned! Thick and glossy ( No, not like a horse's tail)0 -
Good evening ladies
I find myself on this thread given the fact that yesterday, I almost lost my job
Total irrational behaviour on my part, extreme paranoia, throwing hissy fits to the point of becoming very childish, insomnia, emotional with outbursts of crying and sobbing - need i go on ?!
I take low dosage HRT (1mg) just to control the mood swings and hot flushes.
Yesterday I challenged my Manager on a few 'things' and he was furious. I hate to admit that I lost my temper. My entire persona changes and I'm just awash with panic attacks and I'm nothing short of a raving loon.
I am terrified of losing my job but I just can't seem to keep my trap shut !
Today I am full of remorse, and feeling extremely sorry for myself0
