  • welcome MrsMills1985! :)

We're also waiting for my work to become permanent (fingers crossed) (in April 2014) before TTC (we are also hoping to be debt free by August 2014) which should tie in quite nicely!! :)

I was on the pill for 5 years and it took me over a year to get back to normal with my cycles but most don't seem to have that problem! I have to say - it's liberating being able to 'own' your own body again instead of letting drugs control it!!!! Good luck and great to have you on board!! :)

    Thank you! :) x

Isn't it funny how we are all different - I feel the complete opposite. I miss being on the pill and knowing exactly when my period would come, and being totally in control of that by being able to run packs together etc and choose when to have it - now I feel so out of control, as my body can just do whatever it wants! I hate it! I felt as though I was in charge when I was on the pill, and I am not anymore.

You have scared me though....I was on the pill for about 12 years! I hope it doesn't take a year to get back to normal  I have been off it for 2 weeks now and no sign of ovulation yet (I am tracking temps and CM) so I am just hoping it sorts itself out by next year...

Im in the same boat as you- was on the pill for 12 years so Im worried about how long it will take my cycles to get back to normal. Ive been off the pill for about 3 weeks but am not tracking or anything yet (we are going for a ntnp approach to start off with), will just have to see how long I have to wait for my next period.
  • Just ducking back into the thread to say that when I stopped taking my pill I really missed it and hated the uncertainty of not knowing when my period would arrive. As it happens after three months it hadn't arrived...then I got a positive pregnancy test! So I've still not had a proof since I came back from my honeymoon in May! So those of you trying the NTNP method keep at the back of your mind that sometimes it does happen quickly and you might be leaving this thread quicker than you think!
  • sorry everyone! didn't mean to scare anyone! It's just my body!!!

I have to admit - i did like rolling the packs so i didn't have my 'period' - it definitely made going on holiday easier!!!! And I was doing a round the world trip or something I would definitely go back on for the ease but now ironically my cycles are the most regular they have ever been in my life!!!! To the day almost!!! :) And they only last a few days so not that bad - but i do get terrible cramps which I never used to get so swings in roundabouts!

I think we won't be leaving this board for some time - OH got GTA today so I'm an xbox widow for the forsseable future!!!! Oh well!! More itme to focus on debts! :)

I would love to fall very quickly, the main reason we are what I am calling ntnp is because I know what Im like and if I say we are actively trying for a baby I will get a bit obsessed, and I want to be able to enjoy at the first few months of our ttc without obsessing and putting too much pressure on myself.

    Cottage_retreatist- Ima gta widow aswell!!

Glad my husband isn't into video games! Mind you he might be if he had time but he works far too much :(

I am alternating at the moment between feeling really broody and wanting to start TTC right this second, and wanting more holidays and asking hubby if we can push it back further! He is standing his ground and saying 'no' to both things, and it remains January.

I am tracking temperature and CM and stuff at the moment and I have a feeling it is going to take me ages to ovulate after coming off the pill :( just no sign of it at all and morning temps are absolutely all over the place. Oh well, not much I can do.

    Bring on the wine!
  • Ooh congratulations to Chealseablue!

To all the other ladies who have lost their partners to GTA, I feel your pain. Mine hasn't even got it yet and it's all he's talking about. We just sat through a 2 hour video of someone else playing it on Youtube!
There is hope for us yet
