Criminal damage? Superglue can easily be removed without damage, as every hospital A&E knows.
It IS criminal damage the same as keying. Light keying can easily be removed but it is still criminal damage. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Many years ago when i suffered this problem, I used to pick up a doggy doo doo with a plastic bag then under cover of darkness gently apply a little smear to the undersides of the drivers door handle. I can assure you that you only have to do this once!!0

Have a sign made up
USERS OF THESE VISITOR BAYS MUST DISPLAY A CONTRACTOR OR VISITOR PERMIT SUPPLIED BY THE FLAT OWNER
FAILURE TO DO SO RESULTS IN A TICKET BEING ISSUED WITH A PENALTY OF £X
REPEAT OFFENDERS WILL BE SUMMONED TO THE COUNTY COURT TO SEEK PAYMENT OF THESE PENALTIES
This is the legal solution and tickets and signs are available on line. Once several tickets are issued and stack up its worth making a money claim online.
Parking you car and blocking them in always works too. On one site we have a moratorium on parking in these spaces between 8.30am and 9.30 am and 5pm and 6pm at which time removable drop posts are put in @ £60 each. The users are inconvenienced and do not return.Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.
Actively hunting down the person who invented the imaginary tenure, "share freehold"; if you can show me one I will produce my daughter's unicorn0 -
nice cheap simple solution, you can get stickers made up with something like please do not park here, make sure you buy the ones with security glue, they are designed for car glass and take ages to remove!! dont place right in the vision zone on the windscreen but put one on each side window and one IN FRONT of the TAX DISC
they have to remove the tax disc one as the offence is one of not DISPLAYING road tax
they soon get the message no damage is caused by these stickers they are made for the purpose, but they are a PITA to get off0 -

I'm fairly sure these charges are pretty much unenforceable, there are plenty of threads on the subject.
And besides, surely a chain and padlock across the entrance would be a lot less hassle?0 -

This would only ever be a threat. Parking tickets from private firms are nothing but invoices and can't be enforced in court.
Yeah, you might get a few who pay out of fear but generally it doesn't take people long to figure out the threat holds no weight.0 -

Nonsense and they are having done it many times in recent years.Stop! Think. Read the small print. Trust nothing and assume that it is your responsibility. That way it rarely goes wrong.

There's very little that can be done legally to force people not to use the spaces short of making it impossible (some kind of obstruction that only owners/visitors can circumvent). In theory they are trespassing but doing anything about that won't be simple.
The windshield notifications with security glue are probably a good solution. It is a minor, non-damaging, inconvenience and is a proportionate response. If that doesn't work then I would suggest grouping together to get a gate, removable bollard or whatever.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature.
