I prefer this member of staff (plus he's the only one wearing a hat!)

Probably about 6 months, maybe a bit more? Though Huzar is the joker in the pack.
This arrived today:
We have now received confirmation from the Court that formal Court Proceedings have been issued.~~The Proceedings have been served on the airline and they are obliged to acknowledge receipt of those Proceedings within 14 days and then provide a formal written Defence within a further 14 days.
I'm assuming that your response had included this step?
Thanks for the reply0 -

Yes. If you were doing this yourself you'll get notice of intent to defend in a fortnight, a copy of the preliminary defence a cortnight later, and allocation questionnaire maybe a month later, notice of allocation a month or two after that, then notice of a hearing date a couple of months after that (for a further couple of months time).
However, as you've put this in the hands of a good NWNF company, just chill and wait it out ...0 -
Thank you.
The possible timeline is very helpful and the first time I've seen it set out like that.0 -
Just a quick update for everyone, we placed our claim in the hands of Bott & Co in December 2013 after trying to deal with our 23 hour flight delay ourselves, on the 09th April 2014 we received an e mail as below:

This takes us to this week, I came home from work yesterday to an e mail from Bott & Co to say that Monarch have agreed to settle this claim and we should have our money in approx 6 weeks.
For me I initially didn't want to use a NWNF company but realising how difficult this may be to deal with this on my own I would rather have 73% of something than nothing at all as I was about to give up on this claim.
Bott & Co have been brilliant, very easy to deal with, kept us informed every step of the way, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone.0 -
Good to read this update.
Most of cases end up this way in fact.
Has Monarch paid already, or did Bt&C agree a payment delay? I am saying this because you should always check that a payment is following either a court settlement or court decision.0 -

Excellent news, like yourself I didn't fany taking this on-board myself (just like I did with my PPI).
Hopefully I'll get a similar outcome, but not sure, my flight to Florida last year was delayed and waiting to hear how this Huzar v Jet2.com case comes out in the next week or so, before anything else develops.
Here's hoping. :A

Monarch haven't paid as yet, Bott & Co have requested our bank details and told us to expect the payment in approx 5 to 6 weeks which I felt sounded quite definite but as I have learnt through this process nothing is 100% sure and nothing Monarch does would surprise me, I'm sure if there is any delay with the money Bott & Co will keep us informed as they have done with everything else.
Fingers crossed !!!0 -
Just wanted to add my praise so far for Bott & Co. After writing several letters myself and getting fobbed off by Thomas Cook, I submitted my claim to Bott & Co on the 16th of April. They kept me up to date with what they were doing every step of the way and on the 8th of July they informed me that the airline had agreed to settle. I have forwarded my bank details and am awaiting the money (which is promised in the next 42 days).
I realise I could have pursued the claim myself and gotten more money, but as I had neither the time or the inclination, I am quite happy to consider this in terms of something is better than the nothing I had previously, with the added bonus that I have "won"!0
