Where did you get the Vitalin Cat food from please GR?
I have three cats (and one six month old kitten) and feeding them Go Cat is getting expensive.0

To be honest I do not remember where I ordered from as confirmation email came from... orders@alphafeeds.com
I definitely did not order from them - they do not even have this on their website.
Have to try to remember where I ordered from as will not order again - after all there could be absolutely anything in that bag.
I order branded food and expected it to arrive in a branded bag and from the place I ordered from.
Correct? I think it would be...0

Ok checked my bank statement and it says: vitalin petfood took the money so I ordered from here:

Thank you, I will get a small bag from somewhere first (I think B&M do them) and see if they like it.
If they do I think it's going to be cheaper than £4 every week for 4kg of Go Cat.0

Sorry but I doubt it will be cheaper than GoCat for 4 cats - my eat like crazy. I think the bag I got (15kg at almost 36 pounds) will not last them a month :eek:0

I wouldn't say £4 a week for 4 cats is expensive to be honest.
I doubt you'll be able to feed them for much, if any, less.0

 Good value & good quality
10kg would be £24 and I'm sure would do your lot a month!
I'd try to avoid RC if you can - reason being is that just about everyone I know that starts feeding it has real problems getting their cats off it and onto anything else. Not sure what they put in it and TBH probably don't want to (I know their dog food has known carcenogens (sp?) in it:()
That's interesting, not RC but my cat has been having mainly wet food and also some Purina. Long-story, but we ended up not giving her biscuits for quite a few days, then one afternoon we gave her some Purina mixed to Sainsbury's dry food (not the cheapest) to supplement her wet food.
Later that evening she was transformed into another cat, she had to be physically restrained from stealing food from a plate (normally a firm 'no' and gesture is enough), and she was pestering insistently as if she hadn't eaten for days (while she had slightly more food than usual).
It as a pain for us, but must have been very bad for her, poor cat, she is as good as gold.
I'm going to try and give her just Purina again, just to see if it's all dry food, or Sainsbury in particular. She used to be fet just Purina when we got her, and she was fine with that, my hunch is that it's S's food.
I remember my previous cat used to be like that much more often, and she was fed a mixture of supermarket wet food, and wiskas dry food. With Smilla/Animonda/Highlife etc cat food, this cat seems happy, and doesn't pester us for food, just a bit if she is really hungry which is normal.0

Is Vitalin still the cheap rabbit type food that it used to be many years ago? Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole if so. Used to have several clients on the nearby council estate feeding their large breed dogs on it as it was incredibly cheap and they were often underweight and in quite poor condition.
In my opinion, feeding guidelines on food guides are a waste of time. Never known any to be accurate. The best way is to buy a bag of food and monitor how long it lasts to calculate cost of food per day.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0

Hi there. I have 16 rescue cats plus 1 foster cat. Many of mine have special needs i.e. FelV, cancer, mobility issues, Colitis etc. so I am always looking for a good quality food to give them. I don't particularly like feeding dried but with so many, it is far more affordable and I do a mixture of wet and dry. I recently bought Porta 21 Feline Finest Sensible from Zooplus. It is totally grain free so thought it would be worth a try for my cat with chronic diarrhoea who we've tried various antibiotics, steroids and prescription diets for to no avail. I bought the economy pack i.e. 2 x 10KG for £54.90 which works out at just £2.74 per kilo. Considering Whiskas dried cat food is around £2.49 per kilo, the Porta 21 is an absolute steal!! I don't want to speak to soon but my cat who's had watery stools for the last 3 years has started to 'dry up' and gain back some of his weight It is even a really palatable food as all of my cats have gobbled up these biscuits and not just loved them for a few days and then turned their noses up at them (like they did with the Applaws and Orijen!!!!) Mind you, horses for courses and all cats are different. I do also give mine some Bozita chunks which are also grain free and as a wet food, is devoured instantly! For treats, they have some of the Cosma freeze dried snackies which are cheaper than the Thrive treats but are just the same. On the dried front, it is costing me less than £3.50 per cat per month to feed this high quality dried diet which is a bargain It is even a really palatable food as all of my cats have gobbled up these biscuits and not just loved them for a few days and then turned their noses up at them (like they did with the Applaws and Orijen!!!!) These soon add up and you can then treat your cats (or a charity) to treats, food, toys etc. Better still, I always go through *as I get an additional 4.2% cashback, making it even cheaper! I'm sure most folks are registered on top cashback but if not and you use my link above to join (it's free), I will donate all of the £12.50 referral fees to animal charities. Hope you manage to find a suitable, premium, affordable food for your kitties. I've tried so many with mine over the years but have hopefully now hit upon something that is an excellent quality, palatable and affordable! 0 For anyone who isn't aware of https://www.zooplus.co.uk, they do their own reward/loyalty scheme which you collect a point per £1 spent. They only do one cat food (according to their website) and it's good quality
Dog food - they have a cheap range ... which I also wouldn't touch with a bargepole! but also do a "life stage" range, which has a couple of good ones, incl one that is totally grain freeGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
 2016 Sell: £125/£250
