Ha Ha. yesterday I took my cat a bowl of fresh cool water outside where he was sitting in the garden. He also has the bowls indoors.
He ignored it and walked over to drink from the wild birds water bowl that has green slime on the bottom!

Is an actual reaction to my posts, so please don't rely on anything I say.

Well i'm glad my cat is not the only one who does this :rotfl:
Sometimes she will ignore fresh bowl of water outside and the birds water, and come in and drink from her inside water bowl!0 -
I have 6 indoor cats, they eat mostly dry food and some tins of tuna, theyve been on a dry diet for a few years now, never had any issues with it.
My cats arent fussy, they'll eat mostly any dry food. They eat aldi biscuits which are 95p for 950gs. They also like go cat indoor cat but the price varies, its been rising steadily in Tesco, sometimes they have offers on.
You can get 2kgs of go cat (not indoor cat) in Morrisons for £2. If your cats will eat own brand biscuits it will be cheaper for them, mine also eat the Tesco own brand, 95p for 500gs. Morrisons also do own brand cat food as well.0 -
Lidl also do an own brand cat food, coshida, its around the same price as aldis. Aldis also do a more upmarket cat food, its £1.99, not sure of the size of the packet but my cats and my mums cats love it. Lidl also do a pricier version of the coshida cat food in a foil packet.0

But different dry foods weigh different amounts - so trying to work out how many cups or pints in a 15kg bag, for example, is impossible if you don't know the weight of that cup. `
Exactly - that is why measuring in cups is not comparable to measuring in grams and impossible to figure out how much a certain kg in a bag would last for my lot.
Thanks for all the posts.
Of course my cats have several water dishes and also drink from the dog's bowl so no worries here.
I should have mentioned, I am not looking for a supermarket dry food, want something more decent really. And I am aware of Iams and would never buy that.
Need some good food that will not cost more than £40.00 per month to feed my 5 (Fred is something else) so Eden at almost £40.00 per only 6kg is way out of my range as I would need 2x6kg per months = £80.00 per month
Interesting comments about Royal Canin - my friend did say they wont have anything else so perhaps.. there is something addictive rather than healthy in it?
Do not have any plats indoors, Macius could/would kill even a cactus
Fresh meat - I do give them some but only Fred and Macius like it.
Thanks a lot everyone0 -
Looked at Eden for Zara possibly but although their 15kg bak is cheaper than 13 bag of Orijen....
15 kg bag of Eden would last Zara 35 days but 13.5 bag of Orijen would last Zara 45 days.
Like with everything - real cost of food is the cost of feeding per day not the cost of the bag. Sometimes buying a cheaper bag cost more in feeding over a month.
Pity it is so expensive as would be willing to try...0 -

IMO, Royal Canin is a premium priced food without the premium quality. It's going to be better than Go Cat, but whether you get your money's worth..well, a food with the main ingredient as maize for an obligate carnivore, I wouldn't say so.
Even Eukanuba has maize further down the ingredients, and again, that's not a brand I'd feed my pets.0 -
krlyr - I was hoping you will have a look at the small print and comment, thanks for that.0

Will loot at the ingridiets when I get up - have not slept all night, took Zara out before 5am as daytime impossible in this heat...0 -
CSJ do a cheaper one that doesn't look too bad too

Chicken lower in order than on Vitalin's, but Vitalin's does include fresh chicken (which can distort the figure as it includes the water in chicken - which is lost in the production process)0
