    )

if their feeding guide is correct:

    1-2kg cat : 55-175g
    3-4kg cat : 175-295g
    5-7kg cat : 295-400g

I would need around 1.4kg per day for my cats?

Or am I too tired to calculate properly?

perhaps I will have a nap.. and try again.. LOL

thanks, looks good - if it is NOT 1.4 kg per day of course :)

Will loot at the ingridiets when I get up - have not slept all night, took Zara out before 5am as daytime impossible in this heat...

Ingredients are OK and certainly good for the price & a lot better than SM brands:
30% Chicken - a perfect source of high protein.
    30% Protein & 14% Oil

Hypo-Allergenic & Wheat-Gluten Free - free from ingredients commonly known to cause allergic reactions in cats.
B-vitamins and Taurine boost metabolism and deliver excellent energy provision.
No added artificial colours or flavours.

    Ingredients:

Chicken (Fresh Chicken & Chicken Meat Meal), Cereals, Vegetable Protein, Oils & Fats, Fish and Fish Meal, Vitamins & Minerals.

They also do 15kg bags for around £35 - but as Hampshirebabe has found, you can get these cheaper with a bit of hunting around :D

I think "your lot" would need between 60-80g each / day so quite economical as well
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
    2016 Sell: £125/£250
    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!

Canagan is £29.99 for 4kl which makes it about £7.50 a kl
Orijen is £23.99 for 2.27 kl is about £10.50 per kl
Thats for the chicken variety, the fish one is slightly dearer in both makes.

Have a look at Porta 21, on Zooplus, that has a good meat content, although the main ingredient is listed as chicken, rather than chicken meat, which means everything barring feathers and beaks I think.
It ranges in price from £23.90 to £36.90 for 10kl bags, the more expensive one is organic.

    .

It is not just price per kg though - it is how much of each do you need to feed per body weight of the animal.

They are both about the same price if you calculate this way.

    Vitali feeding guide|:

say 45g per 2kg of a cat, I have 28kg oc cats (LOL) so 45gx14 to make 28kg cats happy per day so 630 gram per day.

Bag is 15 kg so bag would last 23 days if fed only dry, with wet a bag should last a month easily.

    Good price :)

God to work out the CSJ again ad 1.4kg per day for 5 cats (Fred discounted) sounds an awful lot... Must have mad a mistake somewhere

    CSJ:

    1-2kg cat : 55-175g
    3-4kg cat : 175-295g
    5-7kg cat : 295-400g

so lets say 55gram per 1kg cat, times 28

it is around 1.4 - 1.5 kg per day

so would ned 2.5 bags per month at 20 per bag it is 50 per month

    So far Vitalin wins :)

Porta 21 recommends ~20g per kg cat and is £30 for 10kg (you might be able to find a voucher code to bring this down though).

    Thanks

30 gram times 28 = 84gram per day so 10kg bag would last almost 4 months?

perhaps I should have a coffee and calculate again? :D
