Thanks a lot,
EDIT
Recalculated (had coffee) - 10kg bag would last 12 days. So around 60 pounds per month.
So Vitalin still vins

Blimey, my brain would explode trying to work that out :rotfl:0

With 6 cats I have to work it out this way

Knowing how much a bag cost means nothing really as each food weight differently and has different feeding recommenadtion.
Only working out how many days will a bag last gives a true cost

I can only give you experiences of these foods with dogs.
CSJ, I found their feeding guide to be quite far off the mark, probably because the dog food is designed for working dogs. I have 2 35kg GSDs, according to their guide they average a GSD at 20kg-30kg so I'd already have to feed them the giant breed portion which is 410g + for 30kg + of dog.
As my two are not working dogs, at the time only one had a medical problem so was on restricted exercise, the other was very active. I could almost halve the amounts recommended and both thrived on it. I had to change in the end as my girl developed a wheat allergy.
If their cat food is anything like that you would get a lot more meals out of it than you are calculating.
I haven't used Vitalin for my own dogs but my friends have a dog that has reactions to every other food he has tried, even the really expensive free from everything foods. He is one of the healthiest looking dogs I have ever seen, he is full of energy but not hyperactive, bright eyed, the shiniest coat I have ever seen on a dog, he barely sheds despite being a lab, no wind from him. He has been on it for around six years now and is doing really well and is an incredibly healthy dog especially considering his age (now around 9)0 -
Fosterdog - thanks for that.

The feed guide is a little ambiguous because it specifies "soaked" and doesn't say if the weight is pre or post soaking. If that's the dry weight this food is expensive. If it's the wet weight it's hard to work out.0
