Have just been researching be-ro cookbooks as I'd not heard of them before. They look like they are amazing judging by the comments! If you can't trace the original person who was interested then please bear me in mind!
I hope you and DP are having a lovely break Greying! With family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

Good Morning :hello:
Hopefuljoy - unfortunately DP and I were only off last week, back to the grindstone nowHope you are having a fab half-term though
I'm sure that you are carefully considering every avenue for your new pupster, but just a thought..... there isn't a little Pirin, sitting in a doggies home, wanting some love is there? Those type of dogs are sometimes the beloved pets of people who have to part with them, for a wide variety of reasons....... only a thought..... our border collie puppy did actually come from a rescue home....
To anyone intrigued by the Be-ro cookbook, it has been produced by the flour company for decades, it has all the 'basics' in it. Pastry, cakes, pies, batters, icing and is a good tome to have, if your first launch into home cooking doesn't need to be thai green curry with sticky rice........ which is what all the celebs think we need....You either send away to the flour co, or mrM used to sell them in the baking section.
Dinner this evening will be a new - to me - dish. HopefullyAiming for a NSD, but we'll see.
Thanks so much for popping by, reading and commenting. Very much appreciated.
See y'all later.

Morning Greying, in support of dog rescue centres, we volunteer for one and love knowing that the dogs are being rehomed into safe and loving environments. Dogs are placed into rescue centres for myriad reasons. Owners have died, gone into care, new babies arrive, loss of jobs and can't afford to keep the. Endless list.
I'd recommend using a dog centre which performs home check visits as well but that's my personal choice.
We have had two dogs and two cats from rescue centres. One of our two hounds at the moment is a rescue, a big gorgeous boy who loves nothing more than a cuddle, preferably on your lap. A long walk, a brush of his coat (got to keep up the looks) and a cuddle and he is a happy chap.

I have a Be-Ro book like this:
It had been thrown out by the charity shop
It says at the back:
"Should this booklet become soiled or damaged the Manufacturers will send a fresh copy, free and post free, if you write to either of the addresses given on the opposite page.
They will also be pleased to send a copy to any of your friends who would like one."
Do you think we could still write and ask?0 -
Wow to the Be-Ro book, amazing!
Greying, I'm glad to see you write about finding some of the discounters expensive - I do too. I've got a thing about cornflakesif you price the valoo lines at ordinary supermarkets, its about 45p per 500g (it was 31p last month, but there we go
). At discounters tho, its still way more expensive.

Hello there Greying and chums! Thank you for the thoughts on rescue dogs. I would definitely go down that route as our third cat is a rescue. My DD though is really worried in case the dog would be untrainable and I can't persuade her. Any input from you all would be very welcome! She wants her dog to be the best trained and loved dog in our town. As Pirin will be her dog primarily I've wimped out on the rescue dog side. I'm going to get her to visit the dogs trust this Friday in shoreham anyway as a day out. That might change her heart.
I'm going to write and get the be-ro book! Today I'm meeting a friend from my previous school for lunch as my half term treat. Then it's more getting the house sorted. It never ends! With family, friends and pets (or any combination of them) life will be fine!

Ah be-ro book - its ace. I managed to snag one in a charity shop.
I rather like the fact that its 'soiled' I'll never starve.
Hugs not caught up as working today but hello and hope all's well in the land of greying and chums.

Hopefuljoy - a rescue pup might be the answer? There are lots of puppies born in rescue or rescued while still with their mums - you may find a suitable pup there. A trip to the DT sounds like an excellent plan. But if not - then a well bred pup from a responsible breeder who rears the puppies indoors (not in a kennel), health checks and socialises and does early training is the thing to look for - but it sounds like you already know that!
Am rather envious. We want another dog but not until next year - but it is hard to wait!
Sorry Greying - gatecrashing! Just dropped by to say hi - but dog discussions always draw me in!0
