This is what we have and it really does work, Aldi's had some powder stuff never worked, Wilkinson had some liquid stuff, never worked, this does work, the kids hate it say they can hear the screeching noise but I can't, the cats can as we no longer have any poo in our back garden:D

My gran used to put out bottles of water out as she reckoned it'd look like eyes glinting in the sun to them. Never any poop but i don't know if the two are connected :rotfl:

I was going to suggest bottles too, I've read that this can be very effective. You need a few old lemonade bottles (big clear plastic bottles). Half fill them with water and leave them in the garden. Worth a try at least, think they might be easier to get hold of than lion poo!
  • I also have had the same problem i found buying my kids a super soaker each and rewarding them for every cat that they soak works. Not only does it keep the cats out it also keeps the kids occupied as well.

I also find it amusing that some cat owners on here think it's acceptable for their cat to mess in someones private garden. I bet they don't find it so acceptable when a dog messes on a public park or pavement or outside their homes.

thanks for all the suggestions guys, we're off to the garden centre at the weekend.

And for those who say I can't stop cats pooping in my garden - watch me :money:

We used to have the same problem, the way we beat the cat was to put some weed control sheeting down and then cover the area with stones, however they have to be medium to large stones, not the little pebbles as they relate that to cat litter.

It may mean having potted plants instead but for us it worked out better as we are able to move plants around etc. just ensure to place wire around the top of any extra large tubs you use to stop them using them as toilets.

We got our large stone pots from freecycle to stop any toe rags nicking them.

I found Keep Off (from Amazon) worked well. But you have to use a whole bottle on a smallish front garden. Also, as suggested, lie thorny branches in your flower beds.

Plastic bottles don't work with the cats around here, they use them as pillows

LOL to be honest I can see my cats doing that too, thought it was worth suggesting though. One of my neighbours has the plastic bottles in her front garden, I've never seen my cats go in there so maybe they do work.

You could try putting down some wood chips and planting some lavender.

No don't.. they LOVE it.. wood chips is there favourite thing!

Plastic bottles and dangling CDs doesn't work either... Our neighbours garden was a sight.. and the cats still Sh@t in his borders.

I've water pistol'd my own cats.. and invading ones.. that they don't like!

They like to turd in long grass too, so if you keep the lawn short is discourages the grass mounds.

My sister puts catnip in her tubs etc.. it stops the pooping but her cats are always high...

I do hope you can specify the range with those things so that it doesn't overlap onto the cat owner's garden too. I would be not best pleased if my neighbours got one of those and made it unbearable for my cats to be in their own garden. In fact I'd put the bass amp up against their wall to see how they liked it :rotfl:
