Just done my shopping in the local LIDL and on the reverse of the receipt is an offer for a special 20% discount off the cost of RAC membership. You also get a £10 leisure voucher if you join which "can be redeemed at 1000's of leisure outlets across the UK".

    Call 0800 716 976 and quote LIDL20

    Worth checking out.
This site has saved me a fortune :money: ...it's also cost me a fortune!

  • I think if you check, Tesco use Greenflag, and buried in the site ( policy document in pdf format ) general conditions, point 20
http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/insurance/breakdown/policy.html states that there may be a charge if a breakdown occurs following an accident, which you may be able back from the insurance. Greenflag state this under the European cover. So I presume Greenflag dont charge, but Tesco do.

Hi - I was shopping around for breakdown cover, and although Autoaid is great value for an extra £8 I got via the Norwich Union website a package including rescue, recovery, home and onward travel for £37.37

I got a telephone quote dropped from £40 to £20 by quoting the magic number to the lady at Norwich Union. THe magic number is somewhere on these pages but I cannot find it now, it is worth someone reposting it if they are more up with these search engines than I am.
The lady on the end of the Norwich Union line was shocked when I asked her to put the number into her machine, she knew nothing about it but I have home start for a Fiat Stilo for £20 (odd)

Your recent article on recovery is showing AutoNational as the lowest priced breakdown provider - so I went to their site as my own cover with Breakdown Direct is due for renewal next month. None of AutoNational's prices are lower than BD's unless I take their SuperService at £63 (with 25% no claims discount). But, when I take into account the £100K of legal expenses cover I get thrown in free with the Breakdown Direct 301 cover (my motor insurer would have charged me £17.50 for £50K), in real terms I am much better off with their 301 cover. For what it is worth I also get 24 hour legal advice, plus some extra cover for lost/broken car keys. see https://www.breakdowndirect.co.uk for more info.

    Cheers

    Dear all,

I'm sorry if this has already been asked to death, but I have no idea who I should buy roadside assistance from!!

My car is a one year old Peugeot 206 (bought new) and, until now, roadside assistance was paid for by Peugeot as part of my original deal. But now that has come to an end and I need to find a provider.

I'm really clueless when it comes to anything like this as this is the first car I've ever owned. I'd hate to jump in head first and end up paying more than I need to.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated. Thank you! :)
