I got proposed to while listening to The Rolling Stones at Knebworth in 1976.'Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.' George Carlin0

I carved my proposal on to the back of a block of Dairy Milk chocolate; did the trick!0

I was proposed to on stage with Jimmy Carr at Broghton Dome. Around 3000 people in the audience.
My (now!) ex had originally wanted to do it in the interval and asked the theatre for permission, who in turn asked Jimmys management. They got back to him asking if he fancied incorporating it into the show.
It was really cool!0 -

I am married to the most unromantic man on the planet im sure ; )
At half time in a football match we were watching he nudged me and said
'do u wanna get married or what?'
then was saying 'shhhh 2nd half is starting' when we were still talking about it ten minutes later lol
I did make him do the down on one knee thing in a nice italian restaurant a few weeks later though ; )

We were in Monsoon one January during the sale. I tried on an amazing dress reduced to £50 from £300.
I said 'I know it's lovely but when could I ever wear it?'
He said 'You could get married in it'
I said 'Is this a proposal'
He said 'I suppose so.'
We married six months later 12 years ago and have now been together a total of 20 years. Still going well!!!0 -
We were both postgrads at the same uni, and met through mutual friends. It was a whirlwind romance - met in January, engaged in February, married in July, and yes, all in the same year.
I'd gone home to visit my parents, but as soon as Mum opened the front door, she gave me a long look and said, 'You've met someone, haven't you. I don't know who he is, but I think you'd better get back to him tomorrow.' She put me on a train the next morning, and I went straight to his student house and rang the bell. It was clearly his turn to do housework, because he opened the door with a loo brush in his hand! We wandered into the sitting room and just stood there looking at each other...then he said, 'I was going to ask you when you got back anyway, so, will you marry me?' I virtually had to prise that loo brush out of his hand, he was gripping it so tightly!
So, met and married in 6 months...a recipe for divorce? Well, yes, sadly we are divorced now, but only after being married for nearly 35 years and having three lovely daughters. And we're still good friends.0
