How did you propose/get proposed to?

My (now!) ex had originally wanted to do it in the interval and asked the theatre for permission, who in turn asked Jimmys management. They got back to him asking if he fancied incorporating it into the show.

You've really got to know what personality your girlfriend is - the Jimmy Carr option of in front of a load of people would have had me running for the hills, whereas the tax efficiency line does it for me:D

I think my Dad asked my Mum what colour curtains they should have when they got married and that was that pretty much. Mr Bugslet asked me over the phone!

I have taken after my family as there has been no proposal in my (ten year) relationship. We are both pretty strongly anti marriage (and even more anti weddings!) but we know we'll get married when it'll make things easier (i.e. when purchasing a house) and when we both feel the need more strongly to be next of kin.

My dad never proposed to my mum either- he went in to hospital with a near bursting appendix and while he was in my mum and grandma planned a wedding for when he came out.

I became pregnant with my son and my fella said "Suppose we'd better get married then...!"

This was 1971 and we're still together.
