Why would she have the clock part and not the badge?

Have no idea. Why would she tell me she was only parking there because there were no other spaces if she was eligible to park there in the first place? Initially, I was only peed off because she could see I was about to reverse in having got there before her.

The most common reason is the badge is out of date and not been renewed because no longer meets the criteria for renewal, therefore not displayed as would be absolute proof of non entitlement to the space. Displaying the clock has no significance whatever, anybody can get an old clock from a disabled relative or friend.

And your apology for trying to mislead posters please?

The salient point is the first two sentences!

Especially considering that the EHRC have also determined that it is illegal (and criminal) discrimination to require a Blue Badge for a suitably disabled person (or someone driving for them) for parking on private property.
I suggest you go to your nearest Tesco supermarket which is on private land and park in one of their disabled spaces without displaying a blue badge and see what happens.

That did occur to me but it would have meant blocking others so I decided not to.

What should a BB holder look like? What does a disabled person look like?

It disappoints me that someone would judge another because they do not fit a certain stereotype.

    You miss the point entirely.

If the scheme was not so abused by those not needing it I think judgement would not come into it.

No-one would bat an eyelid at anyone using the space wether they looked disabled or not.

You need to read my post again.

She did not have a blue badge. She had the clock part. That is not a blue badge.

    Nothing to do with bias.

No, you did not see the badge. We do not know if she had one or not - maybe she only pulled out half of it because she was flustered by the nosey man questioning her?

I got your point entirely. So again - what does a BB holder look like? Is it ok to question someone because they do not fulfil a stereotype?

No, but it is OK to object to someone who does not have a blue badge and uses a disabled space.

You are not reading the posts properly at all, merely looking for any feeble opportunity to attempt to be contentious (incredible for someone so new to the forum!)

    What would happen?

They might try and affix a speculative invoice to the car, they might run around the car singing Peace to the world. Both instances have about the same legal ramifications.

And to add, as others have said, refusing a person with a disabilty under the Equalities Act from using the space would see Tesco in breach of the law. The blue badge has no bearing or meaning in a private car park.
