Hi all, had a lovely time in Oxford thanks, well worth having the extra night. We did the Ashmolean, Bodleian, Botanic Garden, lots of colleges, plenty of shops and had a lovely walk up the Thames, lunch in the The Anchor (fabulous!!!).
Hope you are enjoying your holiday red
Take care everyone....If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
Hi red, kerri and Jeferey
What a miserable day it is. Raining heavily, really cold and grey. Summer has gone now and autumn is with us.
Just been listing on ebay, got free listing for this month again so re listing all my old unsold items.
Glad that you enjoyed your holiday in Oxford, Jeferey, and I am sure your DW enjoyed her break too..
Hope your all well.

I've got a load of stuff needs to go on fleabay - just need to motivate myself to get round to it - busy doing other stuff! Went to allotment last night to do a bit of watering, it's been quite warm! Picked first butternut squash and got some more courgettes, salad and beetroot.
The sweetcorn looks ready and the pumpkins are pretty big. Still some french beans and raspberries coming. The leeks, parsnips and carrots look good as does the purple sprouting brussels and cabbage and the remaining onions. Next big job is to dig up the remaining potatoes and put them in hessian sacks in the garage to store. Hopefully last us to next April!
Hope you're all OK - take careIf at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0 -
Good morning red, kerri and Jeferey
Your allotment is doing well Jeferey, lots of lovely fresh fruit and veg. Is your greenhouse earning its keep too.
Get those items on ebay, check your myebay and you might have the 100 free listings per day for the whole of September. Better the money in your pocket that your unwanted items. I keep asking my son to see if there is anything in the loft or cupboards we don;t want/use so we can sell them on ebay. lol.
Think Summer is over now. Its pouring with rain, really heavily atm and the sky is grey. Its not too cold thank goodness.
Hope everyone is well.

Good morning red, kerri and Jeferey
Hope everyone is ok. It looks like it will be a nice day today but checked the weather forecast and it says rain this afternoon. Good job my dh and ds mowed the lawns yesterday.
I keep getting sore throats so been a bit down with them. Its been going on for months so had to have my throat swabbed yesterday.
Take care guys

HI CW and everyone else - sorry to hear about your sore throats CW, hope the swab turns something up.
We're forecast 28°C and sunny today so I'll have to water the allotment tonight or tomorrow.
We had a FT (2YO) Fri to Mon and he came up to water and we picked these:
They seem to be ready a bit early but they'll store fine in the garage - there's more to come too!
I'm getting loads of tomatoes from the greenhouse too thanks.

Good morning red, kerri and Jeferey.
Wow, Jeferey. What humungous pumpkins, they are so massive. What did they weigh. Bet your little FT was amazed by them. Oh, and don;t do your back in again lifting them. The tomato's look nice and fresh too. Great to have your veggies etc in without having to go shopping.
I have been really busy recently. Lots of appts etc. Still no news re my sore throat problem. Dr said if it keeps on happening he will refer me to ENT.
Hope your all well.

Good morning red, kerri and Jeferey
Another cold morning here, the sky is grey. Not looking forward to the winter months. Will be back to struggling to dry washing indoors, steamed up windows and big gas bills. My summer gas bill was only £26.
Got some chocs for xmas from tesco yesterday, on offer Celebrations etc at £2 a box bogof. Saw a woman load up her trolley with them as a bargain, bet she has a shop for the quantity she bought.
Hope everyone is well
take care guys

Well back from my holiday and finding it difficult to get back to normal - whatever that is!
CW Sorry to hear you are not in the best of health - doesn't help if the weather is bad. I woke up to lovely sunny day here this morning but has now clouded over. Last few days have been good so at least I got all the washing done - now there is a large pile waiting to be ironed - not one of my favourite jobs.
Jeferey - Do you put your veg. in shows? I love to see the different items especially when people manage to produce say 6 runner beans all the same length. Your family certainly must be very healthy with all the lovely produce you manage to grow. I am hanging on to my veg. patch in the garden with the hope I will be fit enough to grow a few things but it just has a wonderful crop of marestails!!
Kerri - How are things with you nowadays? Are you finding time from work to finally sort out the new house & garden? Or does your fitness routine take up any spare time?
Take care all0 -
Evening all - I'll stop apologising for my prolonged absences and instead I'll say I'll pop in as often as I can xx
Wow Jeferey they are amazing pumpkins, do they come with their very own Cinderella and mouse footmen as well?I drove past a house selling excess runners @£1.50 a bag the other week - didn't buy any as it seemed a little steep (actually it prob wasn't) but next year I hope to grow something. Decided against a greenhouse now but OH is coming round to the idea of a few raised beds - perhaps on the old shed base we have.
CW sorry to hear you're feeling under the weather - the dampness can't help. Sounds something like strep (though I have no real idea) OH is recommending drinking hot water with lemon and a teaspoon of Bicarb of soda in it. Perhaps a spoon of honey too to soothe your throat.
Red welcome back - in some ways I love the pile of holiday washing, feels really cathartic giving grubby bits a good wash after I've worn the same two pairs of shorts for two weeks non stop (despite packing at least seven :rotfl:) but not so keen on the ironing.
Well we had the mother of all storms here last week - thunder like I've never known and one clap we honestly thought the house had been hit - it actually shook I kid you not. Most of the street had lights on at 3am, some were taking to their cars to sit in and the next morning I found our Sky box was fried, apparently one neighbours phone line was out and the other side their broadband. Although if that was the worst then I'd rather that than the house on fire  Sky still not fixed as earlier an engineer could come out is next week.
Room renovations still ongoing too - we now have several 4m lengths of skirting in the living room we keep falling over waiting for the decorator to tell us when he'll come round. But we have had some sockets moved now which is good and trying to choose a colour for the chimney breast which has so many colour samples on it that is now resembles 50 shades of grey :rotfl: Just want the room done by xmas now, which also means choosing and ordering blinds to be fitted....ARGH!
On top of that I'm still @ yoga sweating like a big beetroot (lovely mental image for you all) and rehearsing (so under prepared) for a pole show next weekend too  Oh yes, mrs 'never do things by half' me :rotfl::o
Still on the upside, we've had a couple of beautiful autumnal days - sunny and warm if a little breezy. The trees are turning colours now and being an autumn baby I love this time of year - just taking a moment to appreciate it makes me appreciate the beauty of it all.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16
