Good morning red, kerri and Jeferey

Well doesn;t time fly guys. Seems we all keep going awol and before you know it a week or so has passed.

My ds is waiting for a hospital appt to find out whats wrong with him so tbh my health issues are not as important as his. He is my baby after all despite being an adult.

Glad your FD enjoyed trick or treating Jeferey, no little ones here so didn;t do anything for Halloween. Now its bonfire night so hope she has a good time tonight too.

This year has gone so quickly, can;t believe its xmas next month and the shops are full of xmas cards, decorations and mince pies etc.

Its a cold day today, my heating is on and I really need to get ready to go shopping soon.

    So take care guys

    Hi guys

Can;t believe its over a week since I last posted. lol.

What a cold wet winter we are having so far. Its been raining most of the weekend, we had flooding around here again on Saturday but mainly caused by leaves blocking grids. Its raining again now and its misty and cold too.

Christmas is creeping up on us and will be here before we know it. Already started getting pressies as desperately trying to get organised this year.

Well I hope your all well anyway and hope to see your posts soon.

Hello all - can't believe how long it's been since I posted. Sorry.

How is everyone? How's your knee CW and how is DS?

jeferey I bet your enjoying the fruits of your allotment at this time of year.

Red hope you enjoyed your break away in Somerset.

Well all go here as usual - we had our blinds fitted last Friday - yipppee! They look really good (prob better from the inside than the outside due to the window type...but I don't stand outside staring at the house :rotfl:

I ended up taking the blind down in the office before the new one was fitted and doing a lot of removing wall plugs / filling holes and a bit of painting (not the whole room but did some sanding of filler I'd done months ago) looks a lot better now even if the room is to be properly decorated next year.

Emptied another two boxes as well so that's really most of the boxes we can empty done - the rest have ornaments and things which I'm not putting up until rooms are decorate / shelves are up etc and that won't happen until next year now.

Can't believe we're heading so quickly to xmas - partly I think its because apart from a brief cold snap, its been so mild. Not that I'm complaining with the heating bills. Trying to be organised this year and have started writing the xmas cards out - I'm sure my writing gets worse every year (prob because I do so little of it these days) A couple do look truly awful but I'm sure they aren't that bad - I just need to get them stamped up and posted near the end of the month then I can't mither about them.

    Hope everyone is well xx

    Morning all.

TBH I haven't been to allotment for 2 weeks. I need to go but stuff keeps happening! Mum needs a new boiler and had FT all last weekend and he's coming again Sat pm for an overnighter, might take him up to the plot if weather ok.

Got a few pressies so far, need to do more!

Been quite mild lately 15C yesterday at 06:30!!!

    Take care :-)

  • Oh dear, where do I start.

I have lots of clubcard vouchers that have expired and I didn't use them. I left them to mount up for something really good and today had some free time and so went through lots of cupboards clearing and came across them. I have logged on to my account and none showing there are some more about to expire this month so I will use them.

My dumb question is can I do ANYTHING about the ones I forgot to use. I foolishly assumed that they wouldn't expire for several years.

Nothing you can do about expired vouchers unfortunately. I have a couple of small ones that expired.

Also you can;t do double up in store anymore but you can still do the clubcard deals on offer.

Other than that its use up in store. If you have too many you could buy an item of clothing for example and then return the item to store and end up with the cash equivolent of the coupon.

  • Good morning red, kerri and Jeferey

Hope your all well even though we don;t seem to chat much any more.

My knee is ok at best now. I am still waiting for them to make me a new brace, I am supposed to have a custom made one but been waiting a couple of months so far. My ds has seen a neurologist and has to have some more tests done trying to determine whats causing his problem. So had lots of hospital and doctors appts for one reason or other.

Its been freezing here up North. We have had snow, hail, rain, gales, sleet, you name it. My heating is on most of the day as too cold to be without. Today its sunny though, but freezing.

I have got a few xmas pressies but need my card box getting out of the loft so I can get writing them out and post them.

Hope your all well and manage to catch up on all the jobs that need doing, tidying the allotment, painting etc.

    Take care guys

Hope you get new brace soon CW and DS gets nearer to determining what the problem is!
Kerri and red hope you're both ok and ready for the festivities!

AMEX shop small is on again! I've bought DW some flowers (last week), a necklace (for xmas) and today 2 inner tubes for my new road bike. I will get more flowers this week (she won't know what's hit her lol) and some other stuff I need so maybe £30 back - nice!
Managed to sell my mum's dining room table and chairs for nearly £300 on fleabay plus my dad's golf clubs for nearly 60 quid so very pleased with that. Still clearing out stuff from mum's garage!
Finish Friday lunchtime - can't wait!

    Take care everyone :D

Evening all! Usual apologies for my absence, it's been YE at work and the usual bonkers timing of combining that along with pre-xmas prep etc etc has kept me busy to say the least.

I did however manage to write the vast majority of my cards in Nov and have them ready to post on 1st Dec - its the one job I really don't like doing very much.

Nothing more really happened with the house - except we treated ourself to a new xmas tree - one of the twig type ones as its the first time ever we've had space for a large tree (our last house had the 'wrong shape' lounge where it would either have been in front of the TV, a radiator or just in prime 'trip' territory so we always kept our little one until now. i've really reduced down the number of decs we have up too a) because we don't currently have as many places to put them b) because it will be a whole lot easier to put them away ;)

i've been catching up with various friends in pre-xmas lunches etc which has been nice, also had our work lunch yesterday up in the big smoke - it was one of those places where there were performers while you ate and I thoroughly enjoyed it :)

Thankfully I don't live on a line that uses Southern trains - poor people that get stuck with that malarkey. Its like the PO threatening to strike the week before xmas - how do they possibly expect support for that, all it does it underline the benefit of thus closing branches and moving the services elsewhere. Sorry, rant over.

CW hope you get your knee brace sorted soon and they determine what is causing DS's problems too.

jeferey sounds like you've been busy as usual

Red hope you're ok and just busy with RL out there

Counting down the days to the xmas break here too - Tuesday is my last day although the rest of the week is already looking busy. Still, nice to be popular :D
