Good morning kerri, Jeferey and redagila

Thanks red, thats the thing with me too. I don;t think it is arthritis. The pain is mainly on one side of my knee, the left side and then just below the knee cap. I feel they are guessing its arthritis as nothing showed on the x rays. When I suggested it could be something else the drs disagreed with me. They told me to wait till a week on Monday and then phone them again but I am unable to get downstairs even. (wish I lived in a bungalow) I have done as told, completely resting it but no improvement at all. So bored lying in bed watching tv.

We have had loads of rain, and even snow and hail and high winds yesterday. Just checked our weather forecast and we are on a weather warning again for today and again tomorrow. We have had a cold, wet winter so far.

    Hope everyone is ok

CW - I'm not medically trained but lying in bed too long is not good. Do you have a walking stick you could use if the swelling has gone down?
If you still cannot weight bear, I don't think I would leave it another week without "perstering" your GP unless you have a history of similar problems.
Have they suggested cold compresses as this might help the swelling? And might be worth contacting your physio. clinic to see if they have a cancellation.

It's wet, dull & miserable here & I felt the same this morning but been out & had a good lunch so feeling much better (but somewhat stuffed!)

Good morning red, kerri and Jeferey

red - I am disabled tbh and already use walking sticks but this particular problem started 6 months ago. I broke a toe on my left foot and because of that I walked funny and within weeks my left knee was hurting. I have been to and fro from the drs for the last 6 months. I had x rays which didn;t show anything so the drs decided it was arthritis and just treat it with various painkillers. I was at the drs last Monday and told them it just keeps getting worse until they agreed to refer me for physio.

I told the dr last Monday I felt my knee was going to give way I was really struggling to walk and then it did give way. My knee is still swollen and I cannot weight bear without the knee giving way. They never suggested anything else but to rest the leg up to get rid of the swelling, though tbh I won;t spend all day in bed, its too boring and depressing lying there watching tv all day.

Even moving the knee when I am sat down hurts. I will leave it a few more days and then call the dr again as its really getting me down.

Stopped raining for a while here but the sky is so grey don;t think it will be long before it starts again.

Sorry to hear about your knee trouble CW. I had trouble with my knees many years ago and doc said it was caused by my outer leg muscles being more developed than my inner and pulling my knee cap out of alignment - some exercises did the trick. I still get some pain sometimes that's why I went for an automatic this time in my new car. Hope you get some relief soon and are able to get out and about.
My back still hurts and I'm still leaning over to one side - I really hope it gets better soon....

Anyway, enough of my aches and pains, we went to DD1's new house Saturday for lunch and DD2 came over on the train so it was lovely to get back together :D

Good morning CW, Kerri and Red :)

Sorry to hear you still have some back pain Jeferey. I still wonder if it could be your kidneys causing the problem as the pain is worse in your side. Maybe you need to go back to the drs hun.

I don't see the physio till mid March and thats a long time to put up with this. Its so boring being stuck upstairs all the time.

Evening all. just back from yoga - whew!

Jeferey sorry to hear you're back / side (note the forward slash between those two words lol) is still painful - hope you get to the bottom of it soon and it starts feeling better.

CW you must be totally fed up being stuck upstairs, do you have your knee elevated at all? It might help with the swelling. It sounds like when my OH had his ACL go - although you would most definitely know if that was the case (he aggravated an old sporting injury when he really stuffed his up last time before they did a full repair op) There's no way you can wait until March to get this sorted with the physio, and if its so painful, how is a physio going to help until its more easily manipulated. Deff get back onto that GP.

Really windy day here but dry more or less so got the bed sheets washed and out, they're nearly dry which is good. Can't believe we're in Feb already, what happened to Jan?

Good morning kerri, red and Jeferey

I am keeping my right leg raised most of the time but the swelling isn;t going down. I am taking painkillers but still if I try to weight bear I get really bad pains in my knee and it gives way. Just keep hoping I wake up one morning and all is well.

The wind is pretty bad here, that Storm Henry is with us.

    Take care guys

Good morning kerri, red and Jeferey

Had no internet for a few days. Virgin had to come out and fix it for us.

Really missed the internet, its helped keep me a bit occupied while I can;t do much. Still got a bad knee. Phoned the drs and they are coming out later on to see me again. Can someone please waive a magic wand and make my leg better.

Your weekend visitor sounds lovely Jeferey, hope you all enjoy the visit.

    Keep well guys

Good morning kerri, red and Jeferey

The dr came out and she is sending me for an mri scan, it will probably be a couple of weeks till I get an appointment though. If I still can;t walk properly they will arrange an ambulance for me. She is also arranging for a physio to come and see me at home. So just hope we find out whats wrong and can sort it out.

I feel so sorry for my ds and my dh. My ds had his operation on his foot on Thursday, this was number 3 so hope it works this time. But he has no time to rest it as is up and down stairs helping me and doing the meals etc. He had a bad headache yesterday and had to take paracetamol. He never admits to being ill so for him to tell me means it must have been bad.

    Hope your all well.
