Evening all. Lunch up in the Big Smoke was good, nice to see a dew faces I haven't seen since the summer. Unfortunately I also thought I had a cold brewing and by the time I got home I was in full 'need a tissue now' mode. So consequently have spent the last two days in my pjs moving between sofa and bed with laptop to work. Feeling a bit better tonight and have Monday off so hopefully by the time I'm back, I'll be much better.

Xmas cards now all written, not sure of what I wrote in one earlier or rather, if I'm happy with what I've written, considering steaming it open to see but trying to resist. Will get the remaining post ones out tomorrow and then its just a few hand delivered ones left.

    Hope everyone is well.

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey

sorry seem to have been awol but for some reason my days have flown by. Been shopping, helping my dh make a xmas cake and mince pies, which took a full day. I refused to make them and my dh was pestering like mad so told him to do it. I sat in a chair instructing him and believe it or not he loved it. If you knew my ds you would know he cannot even boil an egg and the only meals he can make is open a tin of soup or beans on toast. lol.

Another day writing cards, wrapped a few presents but still more to do.

The days are just flying by and still not ready for xmas.

Thanks kerri, yes, we checked the lights before putting them on the tree thank goodness. lol. And the tree looks nice now.

Your FB's are keeping you busy Jeferey, but at least your finishing work soon for a nice long holiday to recover from all the festivities.

We have plasterers coming on Tuesday to do the landing and stairs which is going to be a nightmare at this time of year but I so wanted it doing before xmas so got to go with it. My son has just taken down the banister on the balcony which sounds posh but isn;t. We have a balcony over the stairs which leads into a bedroom, its just a quirky design in the house but if you can imagine a smallish Juliette balcony thats what we have. Its meant for standing on to clean the landing window as far as I can gather. The stairs in our house are in the middle of the house cos its double fronted, its a strange design but we liked the quirkiness of it when we bought it. Everyone who sees the balcony ask where does that lead to. lol.

Hope your both ok and not to badly affected by the cold, wind and rain we have had.

I know what you mean about the days flying by cw

My cards are written now and I wrapped some more presents last night, don't seem to be many this year but myself and DH have agreed a budget as next year is going to be a big one in many ways and tbh, neither of us need anything, plus I end up ordering most of mine from him online for a better price so it kinda just gets a bit pointless.

Cold seems a bit better today, have been sleeping loads which is my body trying to fight it I guess.

Just ignore the mess on Xmas day cw and take it as a novelty, we moved a few years ago just before Xmas, I still managed to turn out an Xmas dinner but it was hit and miss as to whether we'd have anything to sit on lol! Was stressful at the time but fun looking back on it now.

It's just so mild here it really doesn't seem like Xmas is a few weeks away. Need to get my bum in gear and do a few bits this afternoon, was supposed to meet up with my cousin and her kids but called it off as I didn't fancy walking about outside not 100% well, nor did I want to give any bugs to her or her kids just before Xmas.

Counting down the days til holiday time ..... 2 more to go! Yippee! (Have Monday off to go Xmas shopping with OH) so long weekend here too.

    Good morning kerri and Jeferey,

Sorry to hear your still under the weather kerri. Hope that cold goes soon so you can enjoy your xmas break. Wrap up warm when you do your xmas shopping hun.

Its not raining atm here, it rained most of yesterday though and we are due rain again at tea time. Wish I could dry my washing outside, its causing a lot of condensation drying it inside. We have to keep moving the dehumidifier around to dry the windows. We have a karcher window vac as well but condensation is a real problem atm.

Well wrapped all the presents I have bought, just waiting for a few things I have ordered from ebay and amazon to come and then its done. Also finished my cards yesterday so will post later, just got to write a couple of notes to go in them, will do that today as well. Then to write a list for xmas food shopping so I don;t forget anything.

Plasterers due tomorrow so won;t get much done for the next few days, not sure what time they are coming in the morning so will phone them in a bit.

Take care both of you and wrap up when you go out.

Enjoy today off Kerri, get well soon!
Sounds like you're pretty organised CW :)
Busy weekend, boy FB woke up at 5 this morning, slept all night so pretty good. He's with us till teatime.
Took girl FB to DD1's house for our evening meal there Saturday. Nice to see all the little touches they've done to make it more their own. Torrential rain going home, some massive puddles!
Had to take dog to vets for some medicine and they take AMEX so split bill over 2 cards for another £10 credit :D

Afternoon all, still snuffly here but it's just a cold, back at yoga later so that should be interesting with everyone else finding their inner calm and me blowing my hooter in the back row!

Had a bit of a dramatic day yesterday but shan't go into details, everything ok I think but not exactly what was planned. On the silver lining side, i got to spend some lovely time with DM and my niece.

Just back from Xmas shopping with OH, he's chosen his presents (and I've been well and truly fleeced :rotfl:) but had a lovely afternoon including customary Starbucks. Oh and I got a nice bottle of Snow Fairy from Lush..,from me..to me :rotfl:

Cards all written and presents wrapped apart from today's and one I got for my mum at the weekend (saw it in a store passing, prob stupidly expensive for what it is but it is rather lovely....well I think so at least)

    Good afternoon kerri and Jeferey

we were all ready for the plasterers (well as ready as you can be) and we messaged to ask what time they are coming and they put it back a day. Turned up today at 10.25 and went for lunch 11.55 and still on lunch break. Good job eh, work for 1 1/2 hours and go on break. Not much to see so far apart from broken plaster and lots of dust. Wish they would get off their bums and work.

Got a window man coming later. The window in my bedroom needs looking at. We noticed a patch of damp on the window recess in my newly done bedroom. My ds went up the ladders yesterday and cleaned the gutters, then checked the window frame and some bricks are loose above the window. Anyway someone coming to check it out this afternoon.

Looks like that will be my xmas pressie to myself, workmen doing jobs on the house. Not as nice as your "from me to me" pressie Kerri. lol.

    Good afternoon kerri and Jeferey

Have you both sent all your cards and wrapped all your pressies. I am still waiting for a ouple of things I ordered but other than that most pressies wrapped.

I am currently freezing and damp due to the new plaster and not being able to put heating on to dry it. The plasterers are in and out too which doesn;t help. But they should finish around tea time and then its the cleaning up. Dust everywhere, bits of plaster all over the place. Will have to give everything a good clean today and tomorrow as got family coming on Saturday so don;t want it to be too dusty/untidy.

The window man came and said we need a new window really. He wants someone else to come and have a look as he is a bit puzzled by the window, he noticed that we don;t have a lintel and as its a very wide window we should have one. So they will need to get a builder to put a lintel in first before putting a new window in. Just waiting for a quote for what needs doing.
